ZESPA: is a registered Non-Government Organization established in 2004 including men and women members, to improve animals' welfare (both domestic and wild animals) and environmental conservation in Zanzibar.

ZESPA registered in 2006 under the Zanzibar society act no. 6 of 1995.

ZESPA registration numbar is 374.

ZESPA; members are from Government and private instituions and local people from both Unguja and Pemba.

Achievements

ZESPA: has conducted several projects concerning animals' welfare and environmental conservation,including:-

• Humane education in Zanzibar primary school,
• Rehabilitation mangrove forest at Unguja Ukuu.
• Animals clinic.
• Tree plantation
• Celebreting world animals Day.

ZESPA is a member society of WSPA (World society for protection of animals)
