ZOP have been working ceaselessly throughout the nights and days to help victims, families and survivors of the Mv. Spice Islanders ferry tragedy.
Many individuals and companies have been in contact with the Government and ZOP on making sure what is needed is being supplied, WHO, UNDP, SAVE THE CHILDREN, ZANTEL, MOHD TALL, SHAMSHU PHARMACY and JAKU have been on the front line. On the contrary ZOP is very much disappointed with VODACOM which continued with the VODACOM MISS TANZANIA on the night of tragedy, while the Government, ZOP and Zanzibar community were busy with rescue efforts and mourning. We do hope VODACOM will have the courage of apologizing if the VODACOM MISS TANZANIA continued out of ignorance.

ZOP participated in mass prayer at Maisara September 12, 2011. Thousands of people attended prayers on Monday evening for those lost in Saturday’s Spice Islander ferry disaster.
