ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED   PROGRAM (AHUP)

YOUTH MOBILE CLINICS” This  is the project to be implemented  through  Medical Students dents  Asssociation (MEDSAR)  .  Rwanda Pharmacetical students Association (RPSA)   and other stakeholders .The mobile clinic offers a chance to people with low income to meet a doctor while providing medical students with an opportunity to have a hand on experience on primary care practice. In addition the mobile clinic will provide primary care services for the underserved and vulnerable groups of people including homeless, street kids and elderly people living in homes for elderly or living on their own. It is expected free medical consultation will allow many pending patients to consult and allow medical students to have an idea on the undressed community medical problems. Using their experience in both big hospitals and in the community, the students will become strong advocates for communities’ medical needs and they will do that with evidence. In addition they will help to channel patients who need special medical care or procedures to adequate units to help them.

The project embraces the holistic approach of team work bringing together medical students, pharmacy students, clinical psychology students and eventually social workers to work together as a team under the supervision of an appointed medical doctor

This program will offer also medical advises to further consult the referral hospitals.
