COMPUTING AND INFORMATION ASSOCIATION (CIA) is a voluntary association of youth professionals in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and related discipline in Tanzania, founded in October 2010 and registered in June 2011 as Non government National-wide and Non-Profit making organization. The members include youth professional individuals. However membership is open to persons, corporations, institutions, industries, companies, partnerships, or other associations from public or private, directly or indirectly engaged in the practice of Computing as specified in the constitution and by-laws of the association.

The association is established to represent and promote the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) professional and ICT professionalism, as well as to elevate ICT capability in Tanzania. The Association believes that the future of Information Technology lies in the eager and willing hands of the youth. Also The Association recognizes that the ICT generates opportunities across all sectors in a number of developed and developing countries. AND it is a new source for the creation of quality jobs, wealth generation and redistribution, rapid economy development and prosperity as well as a source for facilitating global competitiveness.

WE are committed to transform Tanzania into an information-rich knowledge-based Association to ensure that Tanzania and its people fully participate in the information age and enjoy the social, cultural and economic benefits of the emerging information revolution.

The organization is committed and believes in the following;

We will maintain and promote the observance ethical code of professional conduct in all activities. We will seek consistently to attain and display high standards of reliability, efficiency and effectiveness.

We will maintain highest level of integrity in administrative, service, and outreach activities; we will tie these activities directly to our mission, and we maintain and report our records accurately.


3. Innovation and Team work


We are committed to be innovative and make progress in our activities and work as a team on achieving our goals.


4. Transparency and Advocacy


We are committed to openness, transparency and honesty about our structures, mission, policies and activities. We will communicate actively to stakeholders about ourselves, and make information publicly available. Also we will continue to educate the public and advocates for the interest of the public.


5. Partnering and Networking


We will work with a wide variety of partners and advocates for the benefits of the organization, partners and the whole society and establish relationships formal or informal with other local NGOs, government agencies, instructions, professionals and International NGOs. And also we will take all possible steps to ensure that there are no links with organizations, or persons involved in illegal or unethical practices.
