The project aims specifically at:
- strengthening the leadership and management of NSA through organisational development interventions,
- increasing NSAs' engagement in the formulation, monitoring and evaluation of poverty reduction strategies and programmes through policy dialogue support,
- supporting the emergence of a more conducive legislative and regulatory framework for non-profit organisations through policy development and institutional strengthening of the relevant government agencies.
Its plan of action is organized around 3 result areas, divided in a set of activities and sub-activities.
The results described in the project logical framework compel us to look creatively at the relationship between State and Non-State Actors in Zanzibar, not only in the law but also in its daily practice. It is expected that during the project lifespan this relationship will become more dynamic, more pluralistic, and more open, based on regular and constructive civic engagements, stronger democratic processes and mutually binding accountability mechanisms.
