FASTJET T0 SUPPORT TTB ON S!TE 2015
The Fastjet Airline has announced to support the Swahili International Tourism Expo(S!TE) scheduled to take place from October 1st to 3rd this year at Mlimani city Conference Center in Dar es salaam.
The fastjet pledge was made today when the officials from the airline met with Tanzania Tourist Board’s (TTB) Managing Director Ms Devota Mdachi for a short meets with Fastjet officials to finalize discussions on how the company can support the second edition of the fast growing Expo organized by TTB in collaboration with the South African based Company namely Pure Grit.
As per support agreement, the fastjet will offer free air tickets for the S!TE hosted buyers pre and post fam trip to and from tourist attractions within destination Tanzania. Hosted buyers and international journalists coming for S!TE from overseas will have an opportunity to visit and see some of our tourism products in National Parks, Game Reserves, Historical site and Cultural tourism modules.
Fastjet which operates as a local airline in Tanzania has decided to chip in S!TE 2015 as part of Public Private partnership in promoting the country.
The s TTB’Acting Managing MSs Devota Mdachi congratulated the fastjet move, and invited many other stakeholders to come on board as this year event so that to make the S!TE 2015 a success.
A NEW PACKAGE FOR THE S!TE 2015

The Swahili International Tourism Expo (S!TE) 2015 is scheduled for October 1 to 3, 2015 in Dar es Salaam, at the Mlimani City Conference Centre and is targeting to attract 120 exhibiting companies.
Speaking during the press conference, the Acting Managing Director of Tanzania Tourist Board, Ms. Devota Mdachi said ‘ this year, S!TE will host a total of 50 Buyers and media from Tanzania Key tourist Markets namely: USA, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, India, China, the Netherlands, Japan, Canada, Ireland, Sweden, South Africa and Ethiopia. This unique and effective program is intended to link Tanzania trade and source markets and maximizing the sales potential for S!TE exhibitors.’
Out of the 50 hosted buyers and media, Ethiopian Airlines (ET) will facilitate the travel for 30 hosted buyers and media. This makes ET the main sponsor of S!TE for two consecutive years. Other airlines that have partnered with TTB to facilitate travel of the hosted buyers and media are Turkish Airlines, South African Airways and Fastjet.
To ensure that Tanzanian companies fully participate in the Expo, The Coordinator of S!TE, Mr. Philip Chitaunga introduced to the media a new package for S!TE exhibitors which is a table top option. This option allows exhibitors who cannot afford to pay for a full stand to pay only $600 and be entiled for 1 Meeting Desk, 4 Cheairs, one 15 amp plug point, 2 name badges, Access to Online Diary system, Access to full Conference Programme , Access to Cultural Pavilion and Display Companies pull up banner.
S!TE 2015 also provides opportunities to all registered exhibitors to participate in training seminars that will take place concurrently with exhibition. Some of the most renowned speakers who will speak during S!TE training seminars include Terry Dale, CEO and President of the United States Tour Operators Association, Nigel Vere Nicholl, CEO of Africa Travel Trade Association (ATTA), Tracy Qi from Beijing African Centre and Katie Reynolds from Film & event media, South Africa.
The Fist S!TE took place from 1st to 4th October 2014 at the same venue.

ACP NDAKI PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON TTB
The Tanzania Police Force has assured Tanzania Tourist Board of its full support and commitment in making sure that foreign tourists visiting destination Tanzania are safe during their stay in the country.
The assurance was given by the Commanding Officer of the Diplomatic and Tourism Unit Assistant Commission of Police (ACP) Juma Ndaki when he paid a courtesy call on the Acting Managing Director of Tanzania Tourist Board to explore ways of co-operation.
Introducing himself to the TTB chief executive, ACP Ndaki said that Tanzania Police Force had decided to form that special Unit to ensure that tourists who come to Tanzania enjoy maximum security throughout their stay. “We in the Police Force recognized that it was high time we established the special unit which will be responsible for the security of diplomats and tourists visiting our country”. ACP Ndaki has taken over the post from ACP Maria Nzuki who has been transferred to other other post in the Police force
He noted that his visit was also aimed at learning more about the tourism and hospitality industry and establishing how they could work together for the benefit of the industry and the nation as a whole. He assured the Tanzania Tourist Board and other stakeholders of his full support.
On her part the TTB’s Acting Managing Director said that the Police Force move would make a significant impact on the development of the tourism industry in Tanzania because peace and security are critical factors in attracting more visitors to any destination. “You may be endowed with unique tourist attractions but if there is no peace and security tourists will never come” she pointed out.

TTB PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST KILIFAIR 2015
Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) was among 140 companies participated in the first KILIFAIR 2015 edition held at Moshi Club grounds in Moshi region from 5th – 7th June, 2015. The tourism fair attracted exhibitors from; The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Zanzibar Government Office, Hotels, Lodges & Camps, Tour companies and Travel Partners, Airlines, Tourism Associations, Health & Insurance, Art, Craft and Jewelry, NGOs, Banks and other tourism stakeholders from neighbors countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
Officiating the fair, the guest of honor Hon. Mahmoud Mgimwa (MP) congratulated the KILIFAIR Promotion Company for their invaluable contribution of this event. In his speech he further emphasized on public private partnership in promoting Destination Tanzania and help local community to share tourism benefits. “KILIFAIR 2015 provides an opportunity to review experience and exchange ideas towards maximizing economy and negative impact on Tourism” he said.
Speaking during a cocktail party, the Acting Managing Director of TTB, Ms. Devota Mdachi assured the event organizers and tourism stakeholders of the continuous support from TTB. “We would like to assure you all that TTB will continue to support KILIFAIR since this is one of the platform to promote destination Tanzania”.
The KILIFAIR become the third Tanzania’s International Tourism Fair; others are Swahili International Tourism Expo and Karibu Travel Market Tanzania, all of them are annual events.
