Center for Children Young People and Adult Education (CYDAD)is an indigenous ,non governmental organization established in 2002 and registered in 2004 under the Inc operation Ordinance Cap 375. In the year 2011 October under NGO new Act the organization came up with new name, log, vision and mission. It is now known as Center for Children Young People and Adult Education Development (CYDAD).The name was previous known as Child and Youth Care Trust(CYCT). The main targeted population were children and young people.Due to emerging issues the demand of our services was highly needed to men, girls women people with disabilities . We target the hard to reach population living in marginalized communities, mostly undeserved and under privileged.The organization started by a group of ten members from the social development professional who have over ten years experience in child youth focused organization. It was established in response to the increase in number of orphaned and abounded children in Tanzania caused by the deaths of their parents due to HIV/AIDS and themselves affected and infected with HIV/AIDS.Most of infected parents were the young people who are also our targeted group .At the same time this group being of more disadvantaged because of the government withdraw support from the social and welfare services as a result of structural adjustment program. CYDAD look at children, young people women and men problems and the policies that address them in a new way using right based approach.Since its registration the organization has been working with different partners in children and youth work and now adults. The organization implemented Community response to HIV/AIDS back in 2006/7 under the World Bank support through AIDS. The project was supported with three sewing machine and one elctrical cooker for income generating activities. A total of thirty young girls from the disadvantaged population benefited and completed to start their own income generating activities including women living with HIV/AIDS, widower, school drop out etc. The project facilitated young people with life skills education and started a peer education project through outreach pro gramme.
The United Nation Development Fund (UNDP) with her financial agency Delloite funding for election 2010 funded Good Samaritan as a leading partner.CYDAD and Addis both working in Kibaha and Bagamoyo to conduct voter education for different group of communities including people with disabilities, youths, eldrey, people living in the disadvantaged marginalized communities.The work which strengthened organization capacity to work with different groups of people.Furthermore The Foundation For Civil Society(FCS) 2010 supported small grant to build staff capacity building with training on financial management, project write up, developing a three year strategic plan and running of the office expenses.
The organization is an active member of Gender based Violence movement in Africa with her head office in Kampala Uganda. The organization involve s herself in GBV movement both local and international in participating in 16 days of Activism each year. With support from communities we are serving and Municipals
the organization is expecting to work collaborative with other organization inside and outside the county to achieve her new vision and mission.
