1. ESTABLISHMENT OF BICO FM RADIO
The Biharamulo FM radio feasibility is for development project to examine cost and effectiveness of radio communications in improving democracy, human right, agricultural productivity, Health and disease control, food security and development challenges for Bihalamulo communities in Kagera region-Tanzania. The project is taking place phase to phase in 15 vilages in Bihalamulo named Bihalamulo town, Bisibo, Kabindi, Nyamahanga, Kalenge, Kaniha, Lusahuga, Nemba, Nyabusozi, Nyakahura, Nyamahanga, Nyamigogo, Nyantakara, Nyarubungo and Runazi. It is hoped that the results from the research will lead to more support for broadcasters to produce interactive and participatory farmer-focused programming.
Prior to implementing feasibility study of Biharamulo FM Radio, a preliminary study on the economics of radio was made in order to determine the costs involved in developing and sustaining community radio broadcasting in Bihalamulo. One of the objectives of the study was to identify the levels of investment required for radio and related ICTs to provide sustainable and effective project that contribute development to small holder farmer’s community. The aim of the study also intended to help and ensure that BIHARAMULO Community radio explores and develops radio-based communication strategies for farmers and sustainable levels of public or donors Investment.
Methodology
Our methodology is systematic and organized effort to investigate a specific problem that needs a solution. This process of investigation involves a series of well thought out activities of gathering, recording, analyzing and interpreting the data with the purpose of finding answer to problem.

It was in early October, 2013 I signed a contract of service with Biharamulo Originating Socio –Economic Development Association (BOSEDA) to train 40 youth bee -keepers in Biharamlo District who were fully identified by BOSEDA based on their potentials and ability to do businesses or improve their business. The programme started on 15th to 19th October, 2013 at Biharamulo Youth center and it was attended by 44 youth and media people from Radio Kwizera who aired out the programme for one day and provided one day Radio talk show that involved me as a Trainer, the Project Manager – BOSEDA and the two youth Bee keepers entrepreneurs who attended the course to share the programme benefit and propose various approaches to the community members on how actually can change attitudes on unemployed youth as well as inculcate entrepreneurship spirit among the youth in Biharamulo District, the Radio talk show was for one hour and was freely offered by the Radio Administration during the Youth light vision Session which was aired every Saturday in morning . This typically showed how BOSEDA is close working with Radio Kwizera, the community and other development partners towards supporting potential youth for them to create employment and establish new businesses for self employment and income generation purposes.
Apparently, ILO-SIYB program is a unique entrepreneurial program which has been intensively researched and equipped with intensive content on business creation and management that later leads to creation decent jobs (employment) among youth, hence solving youth unemployment that is currently global problem. The training does not only provides the means for establishing own entrepreneurial activity but also improving businesses by targeting new markets, proper management of the business, creativity and commitment.
Enabling as many youths as possible to get trained in the ILO SIYB program will mean showing to youths abundant economic opportunities which are present in many places in the country.
Specific Objectives of the SIYB training
i) To assess the existing sources of knowledge and awareness with the regards on information to Entrepreneurship and self employment as a solution to unemployment among youth.
ii) To sensitize youth involving in bee keeping business in Biharamulo district on the importance of entrepreneurship and the way they can be successful through entrepreneurship and creating employments for their fellow youth.
iii) To conduct effective Entrepreneurship education (GYB/SYB Training) to 40 youth entrepreneurs involving in bee keeping products business in Biharamulo District within five days.
Expected output (outcome)
i) awareness created to youth on self employment and SIYB (entrepreneurship program)
ii) understanding the attitude of youth towards engaging in the entrepreneurship activities and self employment
iii) Participation of youth in GYBI/SYB classes
iv) Number of business plan completed and the usefulness of the knowledge acquired during the training.
ACTIVITIY
Generally the project activity focused at capacitating 40 youth entrepreneurs from Biharamulo District with entrepreneurship training package (Start and Improve Your Business – SIYB (Generate your Business Idea – (GYBI) and Start your business (SYB) for five days under supervision of the BOSEDA project Team lead by the Project Manager Mr.Bornface Mlangira
IMPLEMENTATION
This training took place in Biharamulo at Biharamulo Youth Center from 15th October, 2013 to 19th October, 2013 where the plan was to train only 40 Youth Entrepreneurs in Biharamulo District who were sponsored by ILO /YEF through youth to youth fund, but 43 youth entrepreneurs attended the training, hence 4 extra youth attended this training that took five
days at Biharamulo youth Center which was officially launched by Biharamulo Executive Director (DED) and officially closed by Biharamulo Community Development officer, in addition the training was also attended by various Youth development stake holders including Ward Representative ( from respective wards where the project is implemented Ruziba and Biharamulo town ), CHEMA , HUMAN DEVELOPMENT TRUST (HDT) , TANZANIA FORESTRY SERVICES (TFS), BIHARAMULO VIJANA SACCOS, FAIDERS and CONCERN
This training was organized by BOSEDA in Biharamulo District where full Transformation Knowledge, Generate Business, Start business (writing business plan), marketing and Introduction to record keeping was successfully facilitated to participants.
For sure this training has equipped youth with necessary skills not only for their businesses but also for their life in general, as Transformation Module moved all participants and helped them to change their mind set and attitudes. “This SIYB Entrepreneurship education is not only a means to foster Youth Entrepreneurship spirit but at the same time to equip young people with entrepreneurial attitude and business management skills”
Most of participants liked the course, and asked to get soft copy of the training material of Transformation Module (transformation video and success testimonials used). During the Closure of this Training in Biharamulo District Community development officer requested youth to use that opportunity in order to improve their businesses and create employment to their fellow youth and promised to support youth in any way where needed so as to make sure that the program is successful in Biharamulo so as to be the model in Kagera region and Tanzania at large. TARGET GROUP
The target group for this Training was 40 selected Youth who are involving in Bee keeping & honey processing business from two selected wards in Biharamulo Districts thus are Ruziba and Biharamulo town
RESOURCES USED AND SOURCE OF FUND (RESOURCES)
The following resources were used in this training namely Venue, Training materials (manuals), Tea, Meals, Drinks, Transport and training personnel costs, where this cost was covered ILO/YEF and BOSEDA as the service contract prescribe.
RESULTS/OUTPUTS/ ACTIVITY IMPACT
A total number of 45 Youth bee keepers entrepreneurs in Biharamulo District attended the SIYB training which was officially closed by the District community Development officer, though the target was 40 youth, hence four youth who were out of budget; BOSEDA was able to bear the cost and support the three youth to undertake the course. BOSEDA as a host and youth led organization real proved to have positively understood the SIYB course purposes especially in selecting potential youth for the course who were also willing and attended the programme for all days.
Monitoring and Evaluation conducted during and after the training revealed that the program (SIYB) is very acceptable and appreciated by both participants and officials as all participants enjoyed this training as it added value to their business management skills as most of entrepreneurs reacted that they were running their business under loss without knowing.
All participants were able to complete their business plan successfully as it was required, During follow up and evaluation most of entrepreneur reached, explained that this is the unique program that let the participants conduct practical business management during the Training by using business games hence be able to run their actual business successfully.
2ND INTERVATION:
1. INTRODUCTION:
After signing the training contract of service between the BOSEDA as client and Biharamulo District Beekeeping officer as TOT for beekeeping technical skills, training was conducted effectively and continuously from 25th -28th November 2013.
The training included both theoretically and practically which was attended by about 44 youths as for as Green market for youth Economic empowerment project concerned. Group work in four groups improved active participation, discussion and understanding.
The Trainer Prepared 20 topics were facilitating both on beekeeping technical knowhow and other essential topics.
2. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
· To facilitate and capacitate on modern beekeeping technical skills to 40 youths beekeeping group
· To empower the youth on how to get quality, quantity and standard of bees product, market strategies and process by product out of honey and bees wax
· To build togetherness among the youth
3. IMPLEMENTATION
