How BGR is meeting NYC, NAWOCO and Government vision and mission

BRIGHT GENERATION RWANDA (BGR) is a local Non Governmental   and non denominational Organization operating nationwide which aims at enhancing socio-economic development for youth and women through empowerment and advocacy. Our beneficiaries are youth and womens, young graduates from Universities, higher learning Institutes and High schools, youth and women representatives at local administration. This will be achieved through various trainings, networking , coaching and mentoring. It was founded on 21st December 2013.

The vision is to build an entrepreneurial network of youth and women  key actors in peace building across the country towards long lasting development

RWANDA NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL (NYC)

 

The Rwanda National Youth Council(NYC) is a forum that Facilitate and Encourage Youth to participate in socio-economic development and transformation to a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable society.

Mission

Facilitate and Encourage Youth to participate in socio-economic development and transformation to a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable society.

Vision

NYC’ s vision is "to promote the youth economic, social, cultural, intellectual and moral welfare. Its end is also to create conditions that are favourable for their integration in all sectors of the society so as to let them become stakeholders of sustainable development."

 National Women’s Council (NAWOCO)

The National Women’s Council (NAWOCO) is a social forum where girls and women pool their ideas in order to solve their own problems and to participate in the development of the country. Cfr art 187 of Constitution and art 4 of Law n°27/23 of 18/08/2003

Missions and objectives:

1. compile views of all Rwandan women without discrimination;

2. Train women to analyze and solve their own problems together;

3. Encourage women to participate in the development of the country

4. Sensitize women on the culture of patriotism and working for the country;

5. Enhance women’s ability to carry out their own activities;

6. Represent women in the governance of the country to enable them participate in Government programs;

7. Encourage women in the fight for equality;


MINISTRY OF YOUTH & ICT (MYICT)

Mission

The mission of the Ministry of youth and ICT is to "address national priorities for economic growth and poverty reduction through the development and coordination of national policies and programs related to youth empowerment as well as Information & Communication Technology policies and programs.

Vision

Vision

Through youth economic empowerment, MYICT has the the overall goal focusing on the following visions for both Youth and ICT sectors respectively.

1. The Vision for the Youth Sector

To meet the expectations of the Youth, the Ministry has developed a vision which aims at raising a HAPPi Generation. Here are quality of such generation:

  •     H: Healthy
  •     A: Attitude; Aptitude (skills, education)
  •     P: Patriotic
  •     P: Productive
  •     i: innovative

2. Vision for the ICT Sector

  •     To accelerate socio-economic development, improving productivity of the private sector and developing the growth of ICT.
  •     To foster ICT development and diffusion in the Rwandan Society and Economy.

The guiding principles that will help the ICT vision be attained are crystallized in the "SPREAD" acronym.

The meaning of each letter is summarized in the table below:

  •     S: Services; Solutions; Systems
  •     P: Private Sector–led; Partnerships; People-Centric
  •     R: Reliable; Rural; Regional Hub
  •     E: Enabler; Employment Generation; Entrepreneurship; Education
  •     A: Accessibility; Affordability
  •     D: Demand-driven

 

So far since BGR has started, 200 people (120 women and 80 youth) has been trained in various areas such as cooperative management, entrepreneurship and business development, customer care and communication skills, leadership and development, organizational behavior, soap and necklaces making, etc...

as achievements, 2 cooperatives (IWACU HEZA MASAKA & IKIREZI ART GALLERY) has been formed + one Music band called NURU. and as good as it is, the two cooperative are in processures to meet registration requirements. particulary the IKIREZI ART GALLERY haas participated in 2014 EXPO.

BGR plans are still in progress as it looks to be lauched soon. passion and commitment to serve is the inner driver of BGR Team members. if you are also passionated; BGR doors are open for commited volunteers in BGR Programs.

Thank you ( Che) Comrade Fidele for your post.

I congratulate the BGR Team for the Passion &Commitment to give back to the community.

I also believe that if you empower people, it means that you are empowering the future of the nations because people are the primary and essential resources of the nations. Hence, making them better= making the nation brighter.
