This would contribute to among others capacity building, transfer of skills and creation of common voice in lobbying and advocacy for sustainable energy policy issues. These efforts contribute to the development of efficient information sharing among the partners involved in the development and promotion of sustainable energy in Tanzania. MANAGEMENT AND STAFFING OF FADECO COMMUNITY RADIO:

FADECO Radio has employed 21 people who work in different capacities. All except two, work as volunteers. The key person is the manager called Devotha Martine. There are 17 field reporters. The number is expected to increase as more volunteers apply and later qualify.

FADECO RADIO is managed by a Board of 7 people assisted by 14 Committee members (who represent the interest of the target groups – the community). The Management Board – takes all key decisions of the Radio station including staff recruitment and appraisals, training and over all ownership of the radio.

Organization Structure

FADECO Radio is a project that was started by a local Non Government organization called FADECO (www.fadeco.org), as
an effective and cheaper means of disseminating information to a wider farming population in Karagwe district. These two entities are now managed separately although they are same members for the NGO and for the Radio.

Besides, the radio Station has an administrative team which is responsible for the day-to-day running of the radio station. This is headed by the Station manager assisted by the following key positions: Technician, Finance Manager, Production manager and A team of broadcasters/ presenters.

Due to limited resources, FADECO RADIO has not been able to hire very highly qualified journalists. With the exception of the key staff, the field reporters have secondary education with on-the-job training in journalism provided by FADECO RADIO during the in-house and refresher training programs.
