The Expo will take the format of a travel and trade exhibition with a conference element focusing on topical tourism, sustainability, conservation and other market related issues.

The planning for Swahili International Tourism Expo has taken cognizance of the continued existence of Karibu Travel & Tourism Fair (KTTF) which has been running in Tanzania since the year 2000, and the need to ensure that, the two fairs complement each other.  KTTF which is held in Arusha in June each year focuses on the regional market, while the Swahili International Tourism Expo will be held in Dar es Salaam in October each year and will exclusively focus on international clientele.

The word “Swahili” is an Arab word, meaning “the coast”. Ultimately it came to be applied to the people living on the East Africa coast and their language. The ‘Swahili’ coast refers to The Mystical Islands of Zanzibar and Tanzania mainland’s coastline which boasts of 805 kilometres of palm fringed unspoilt beaches. Tanzania’s rich culture and history traversing from a blend of African, Arabic, Persian, Indian values are what make Tanzania’s people and their language- stand out from other cultures in the world.

Don’t miss another unique opportunity to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business with the global travel trade.
