Tanzania Society for the Deaf ilianzishwa na kusajiriwa 1971 na muasisi wake ni Sir Andy Chande.Mlezi wa kwanza wa chama hiki alikua hayati Mwalimu Julius Nyerere,raisi wa kwanza wa Tanzania.Chama kimejenga shule ya Viziwi Buguruni kwa kushirikiana na wadau wa ndani na nje ya nchi chini ya muongozo wa Sir Andy Chande.

Chama kimepata mafanikio mengi ikiwemo kufunisha lugha ya alama kwa viziwi,wakalimani,kujenga shule,visitors lodge,shamba la mlamleni nk

Tanzania Society for the Deaf was founded and registered in 1971 and its founder is Sir Andy Chande.The first Patrol of TSD was late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, first president of Tanzania.TSD in collaboration with stakeholders inside and outside the country built Buguruni for the Deaf.

Association has found much success including teaching sign language for deaf, interpreters, school building, visitors lodge, farm at Mlamleni etc.
