However, there are 5 main focuses for our work which aim to give back children's rights. 1. Child Labour. 2. Healthcare 3. Education 4. Protection & Social Services At the heart of all the work we support, we desire to:
Eliminating Child Labour: Globally the majority of child laborers come from the poorer sections of society. Social exclusion and discrimination, a result of poverty, children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, traditional cultures, broken marriage and gender biases, are important factors that keep children out of school and force them to work instead of attending school. Children who work are subsequently subject to abuse, both physically and sexually, from their employers and often work under conditions that are both unhealthy and potentially fatal. This scenario cannot contin PLCC aims at eliminating child labour & to improve conditions for working children and ensure they can access their basic rights to education and healthcare. We offer support for their futures, through vocational training, employment opportunities and reunification with their families. Child labor often represents parents’ carefully thought out rejection of an education system that is usually irrelevant to their child’s future. Education: PLCC runs education projects, for Orphan and street children and young persons (especially girls) in the rural rural areas who find it difficult to access education.
