White Orange Youth News

The White Orange Youth organization in Moshi is currently working to implement a new program which will provide psychosocial support and care to vulnerable children in the Kilimanjaro Region.For this project will be specific to Moshi rural in the villages that found in the slop of the mountain. These villages are Okaoni- Kibosho, Kahe, Mabogini and Marangu (Kilema south) areas. The project will work to support each child’s social, spiritual, emotional, physical and mental needs. Intervention will include support for vulnerable children and orphans, advocacy for mainstreaming psychosocial support and care into the district’s policies, provision of counseling and referrals to vulnerable children, networking and creating children platforms. Both counselors and peers will be an essential component of this program. White Orange Youth will train caregivers in their respective communities to provide psychosocial support and to help these children cope with their problems. WOY staff will also train peers so they can create a support network and meet independently to discuss problems and participate in group activities. This program will not only provide psychosocial support to vulnerable children but also raise awareness of child protection rights through activities and events held in the community.
