The Student Support Services Programis aimed at:

  • children who have poor attendance in school
  • children with social or behavioral problems
  • children experiencing grief or loss

The Student Support Services Program (SSSP) focus on child family approach, which may include working with Schools Outreach programmes

Student Support Services Program within school systems  will provide services to students to enhance their emotional well-being and improve their academic performance,  Student Support Services Program are often called on to help students, families, and teachers address problems such as attendance, social withdrawal, overaggressive behaviours, rebelliousness, and the effects of special physical, emotional, or economic problems

So that Student Support Services Program will assist children and young people faced with learning barriers to achieve their educational and developmental potential. Student Support Services Program will provide strategies and specialized support at individual, group, and school.

Student Support Services Program (SSSP) comprises a broad range of professionals including psychologists, guidance officers, and social workers. Student Support Services Programofficers work as part of an integrated health and wellbeing team within networks of schools, focusing on providing group-based and individual support, workforce capacity building and the provision of specialized services.

Student Support Services Programoperates within networks of schools with specific objectives to:

  • work in collaboration with community to identify and intervene early with children and young people who have additional needs or are at risk of disengagement
  • develop the capacity of the workforce within schools to meet the needs of children and young people who have additional needs, or are disadvantaged or vulnerable, to enable them to achieve successful education and wellbeing outcomes
  • target the delivery of individual support services to those who require specialized expertise, assessment and intervention in order to overcome barriers to learning
  • respond to emerging student wellbeing needs and contribute to identified school and network priorities
  • respond to critical incidents involving students, staff and school communities
