Wanyama Pori Foundation, WPF is a non-governmental, non-political, non-religious organization established in August, 2010 to serve wildlife and its habitat- together with engaging local communities towards harmony way of living with wild creatures.

WPF, is then prioritize the livelihoods of the local communities as the first and foremost concern to put into practices through enganging them on various issues relating to wildlife and environment.

 

• The primary objective is to improve the livelihoods of the local communities towards sustainable way of harnessing natural resources.
• To establish Participatory community conservation planning;
• To conduct conservation and environmental education to the communities

Following, the rapid increase in population which inturn exceed carrying capacity of the particular land especially those living in close proximity with protected areas (PA's), the demands for natural resources such as wild animals, fire woods, timber and honey is a big problem in many areas, WPF is then here to try harmonising the co-existence between wildlife and its habitat (environment) and local community.
