PROGRAMS

To Achieve the afore said objectives –ABAANA Tanzania resolves to run three major programs deemed essential to restore youth street children dignity as follows:-

            Program I JOB PLACEMENT

Identification and invite skilled Volunteers who are ready to Support youths Street children in some programmed activities in liaison with relevant government Institution Social welfare Department, Districts Councils and Ministry of Home affairs .This programs should aim at giving the street children an experience and team work

Program II HEALTH EDUCATION EFFECT ON HIV/AIDS AND ACTIONS AGAINST DRUG & ALCOHOL

Provision of Health Education on HIV/AIDS transmission infection ,Effects and Consequences of  use of Drugs and alcohol among the youth street children through regular social Counseling involving family members (family) psychotherapy approaches )

Program III SKILL TRAINING AND JOB PLACEMENT

Community Informed /Educated on the Plight of youth street children through brochures mass media produced once within two months. Contacts and Identification of Vocation training Centers- garages, skilled individual artisans willing to offer training and alternative job placement for self reliance.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Abaana Tanzania has not achieved many of its intended goals, but we have tried to reach where we could by scarce resources and Committed Management as follows:-

• The organization has established a remarkable office, to undertake its daily activities along Uganda Road at Nyumba ya Vijana Building .
• Efforts has been made to reunite 16 boys and 8 girls to their family through family reunion and reconciliation       program

• Effort has been made to develop skills of 12 Volunteers in Counseling and family re-uniting the respective volunteers are doing a tremendous  job in family reuniting. They have  established a Centre where kids Voluntarily and gather to get Current information and Useful sensitization
• Abaana Tanzania have been following It’s meeting Calendar for 2012 ,All important meeting has been met and various decision made including writing aproposals to various donor organization
• Abaana Tanzania identified stations where drug abuses met  Bukoba bus stand, Centre Markert ,along the shores (beaches) and near Kahororo Sec School.

• The management has managed to write request of grants from The foundation for civil society for the purpose of management capacity building in the february 2013

  In fulfilling its mission ABAANA TANZANIA concentrates on the following thematic areas relevant to its current socio-economic development.
    -HIV/AIDS impact mitigation to Most Vulnerable Children.
    -Community capacity building for sustainable development
    -Water and Sanitation.
    -Poverty alleviation through IGA.
    -Environmental Conservation and Protection
   
  OBJECTIVES.
   -To provide family welfare  and human rights to marginalized groups in the communities that are under privileged in terms of obtaining basic Health services,education and other social economic needs-while targeting the MVC widows,destitute  elders and refugees.
  -To contribute to the health development of Tanzanians through initiation and provision of quality heath services with special emphasis on HIV/AIDS (IMPACT MITIGATION).
  -To advocate for micro-credit principles  and standards,that meet the community's practical basic needs in a sustainable manner to alleviate poverty in Tanzania.
  -To carry out emergencies social and humanitarian operations in conflicts,epidemic disease outbreaks,T.B, Leprosy, malaria,famine,disaster and refugees.
  -To serve as a forum,through community initiatives and participation aimed at protecting and preserving the environment.
   
  OUR FOCUS.
  HEALTH
  -Promote behavioral change as a means of curbing HIV/AIDS transmission.
  -Promote and support MVC (impact mitigation).
  -Promote and support destitute elders and other marginalized groups  to obtain free heath services according to health policy on old aged people.
  CAPACITY BUILDING.
  -Organize training programs in relevant managements skills  on micro -entrepreneurship activities.
  -Promote alternatives IGA to communities on horticulture,hybrid goats hens and fruits farming.
  WATER AND SANITATION
  -Promote on safe and clean water and proper sanitation to destitute elders through provision of water harvesting jars and construction of Ventilated Improved Pit Latrine.
