1.0 ORGANISATION PROFILE FLOURISHING COMMUNITY TANZANIA 1.1 Registration and Offices Flourishing Community Tanzania (FCT) is a politically non-partisan Non-Government Organization registered on the 7th of January 2016 under NGO registration. The head office is located on Plot No. SM//432, Liwiti Street, Tbata poster, Ilala, Dar-Es-Salaam. The postal address is 9934, Dar-Es-Salaam and E-mail address is flourishig16@gmail.com 1.2 Leaders and Contact persons The leaders and contact persons of Flourishing Community Tanzania (FCT)are shown in the Table bellow together with their telephone numbers.
1.3 Objectives The principal objectives of Flourishing Community Tanzania are: 1 To promote and advocate for good and effective leadership, good governance and human rights. 2 To fight poverty in public service and all types of inhuman behavior in society; such as human trafficking, drug abuse, child labor, killing of albinos, etc. 3 To advocate for protection of the environment to enable the planet continue to support life 4 To promote education and training at all levels of society in leadership, good governance and anti-poverty. 5 To facilitate and promote growth of social sciences and effective management of resources for development.
1.4 Mission Flourishing Community Tanzania (FCT) is dedicated to promoting highest quality leadership, good governance, democracy, protection of the environment and national resource and fighting poverty through consultancy, research, education, training and publishing to create a better, safer and healthier life for all Tanzanians in the 21 century and beyond.
1.5 Vision We aim to be the most respected institution in promoting good and effective leadership, good governance and anti-poverty in Africa for social and economic development and peace on the continent.
1.6 Core Values i. Equality of Human Beings We believe all human beings are equal regardless of race, tribe, nation, religion or sex and deserve equal opportunities in life through good governance and effective leadership at both national and global levels.
ii. Respect for human rights We respect all human rights: political, economic and social and we strive to promote them and ensure they are respected in society.
iii. Participation We encourage broad participation in decision making through growth of democracy and innovative thinking at the individual level and throughout wider civil society.
iv. Creativity We believe in and encourage the personal attribute of generating original ideas and perspectives, departing from conventional views to pursue new approaches, concepts and vision for the good of individuals and society.
v. Tolerance We believe in diversity as manifested by unconditional acknowledgement and acceptance of others, regardless of their background, ethnicity, sex or belief, and use of individual talents to create synergy for the benefit of individuals and society.
vi Service delivery We believe in teamwork and transparency during service delivery and work with other stakeholders interested in improving good governance and protecting the environment in Tanzania. These include community leaders, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Political Parties, Religious Organizations, business organizations, news media organizations and donors, both domestic and international.
1.7 Achievement Flourishing Community Tanzania has being working with Ahadiway life Development Initiative for the period of two years in the area of management. In this regard we participated in forming sixty three (63) VICOBA groups in Dar es salaaam and Coast region and 23 in Dar es Salaam, building capacity and strengthening VICOBA groups and monitoring and evaluating the financial capacity of members of the VICOBA groups.
