KIUMAKI is a registered group working to improve the life standards of community in Iringa,Tanzania. It was established by a group of people to sustain forest resources uses for improvement of community livelihood,women are given attention in terms of social- economic,education, health and human right activities. KIUMAKI has three projects.The first project is forest resources conservation and Rock Art protection.We protect and conserve indiginous trees and provide education on environment issues in Iringa. We managed to conserve the Igeleke mountains so far. In July 2009 we implemented the Saving and credit project,the second project. This project was intended at epowering women through income generating activities. Through this, we managed to buy fertilizer for our farm and pay school fees for our children.All projects are self supported.Members of KIUMAKI are full participated in environment conservation and make contribution to the women empowerment. Project number three is Capacity Building, this project is intended to empower members of the organization to make them carry out its responsibilities.
