I must be extremely naive... in FOSS communities, I tend to take people at their word and expect that they are operating under the best interests of their communities. And I had hoped that people would think the same.

Instead, I get tired of people pointing fingers at others with the implied accusation that they are shills for other entities. I, myself, have, at times, been called a shill for Oracle (when they donated Open Office to the ASF), MS (when they became a sponsor), Red Hat (very recently) and others... Or maybe not exactly a "shill" but for sure someone who could be putting those entities' considerations before that of FOSS, a claim so ludicrous as to be almost irrational. How can anyone who claims to really understand and appreciate FOSS be so distrustful of trust?

I don't know whether to ignore those people, avoid those people, or pity those people.
