RAMAT is striving to assist the local communities of Ngorongoro district improve and promote their livelihoods to eliminate poverty. in this manner, RAMAT has two main programmes: Community Livelihoods Programme  in which the local community has access to skills and resource to establish and manage their small and medium enterprises. The well established Village Community Banks are the focal points for advancing these skills, manage savings and credit initiatives and marketing. so far there are 12 VICOBA in Soit-Sambu and Ololosokwan wards. Also, the Community Livelihoods Programme assists the people of these wards to engage in relevant literacy skills; reading, writing and numeracy which is useful for the improvement of their livelihoods. 

So far RAMAt is assisting the community to start five enterprises in the areas of beekeping, vegetable gardning, jewellery, poultry and soap making.

Another key Programme is the Community Media Programme in which RAMAT is establishing a community radio station, facilitating citizen journalists to ensure that the people of Ngorongoro have access to information and means of communicating that information to other communities and the relevant authorities.
