Civil Society Capacity Strengthening
Pwani-DPA ni miongoni mwa asasi changa kitaasisi zilizonufaika na Mpango wa uendelezaji na Uimarishaji wa Sekta ya AZAKi nchini Tanzania kupitia The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) kwa kuwezesha kupata ruzuku ya Usajili (RDG) katika kipindi cha mwaka 2008 iliyosaidia kuwezesha kupata usajili na Kufungua Akaunti Benki,jambo lililopelekea kufungua Ushirikiano na Asasi kama vile TEN/MET,CVM/APA-PSI katika utekelezaji wa Malengo ya asasi yetu, hivyo kutokana na matokeo haya, tuliona ili kuendelea kutekeleza malengo yetu kwa mujibu wa Vipaumbele vinavyozingatia mchango wa mawazo kutoka kwa wadau muhimu na walengwa wenyewe, Pwani-DPA tuliona kuna umuhimu mkubwa wa kutekeleza mradi huu ili Wanachama na Wadau kushiriki na Kumiliki mchakato katika hatua ya Kubuni, Kupanga, Kutekeleza na Kupima matokeo na ufanisi wa malengo na Mipango ya asasi kwa maendeleo endelevu na kuepuka kuwekeza rasilimali katika mipango isiyozingatia matokeo chanya kwa Kuongozwa na usemi usemao " Kushindwa kupanga ni Kupanga Kushindwa"

Lessons Learned

Explanation
Mradi huu wa Kuandaa Mpango mkakati wa asasi umeonekana ni Mradi muhimu sana si kwa asasi changa kitaasisi kama Pwani-DPA tu bali kwa asasi yoyote yenye dhamira njema ya kuchangia kuleta mabadiliko ya kimaendeleo katika sekta yeyote ile na hili lilijidhihirisha wazi kwa Washiriki wa warsha hii,ambao walitoa ushuhuda kwamba ushiriki wao haukuwa tu kutoa mchango wa mawazo kuhusu mwelekeo wa Pwani-DPA bali wamejitambua umuhimu wa kuwa na mpango Mkakati katika asasi zao kwani asasi njingi zilionesha kutekeleza mipango na malengo ya asasi zao bila kuwa na Mpango Mkakati jambo ambalo linapelekea kutokuwa na fursa ya kupima ufanisi na Mafanikio ya Asasi kwa Kipindi fulani
Umuhimu wa Kujenga mahusiano mazuri yenye mwelekeo wa Kimaendeleo na wadau hasa serikali na asasi zake, hili lilijidhihirisha wazo wakati afisa mipango wa Mkoa wa Pwani Bw. Brown Kintungi na Meneja wa SIDO Mkoa Bi. Agness Yessaya walipokuwa wanachangia katika mjadala wa Warsha ya kuandaa Mpango Mkakati wa Miaka Mitano wa Pwani-DPA,Walisema,"Kimsingi serikali inatambua mchango mkubwa unaotolewa na Asasi za Kiraia katika kuchochea maendeleo katika sekta mbalimbali la msingi ni kuwa na mipango mizuri ambayo inaweza kuhusishwa katika mipango ya Maendeleo katika ngazi ya Mkoa na Halmashauri za Wilaya nanyi kama asasi mkasaidia katika ngazi ya Utekelezaji na Serikali ikafanya kazi ya Uratibu tu"
Changamoto kwa asasi za Kiraia hasa zile Changa Kitaasisi kama Pwani-DPA,kuandaa majarida yatakayosaidia kusambaza kazi zinazofanyika kwa walengwa na wadau ili kujitangaza zaidi na kutambuliwa katika maeneo ya utekelezaji wa Programu na Miradi mbalimbali
Umuhimu wa kujenga uwezo wa mapato ya ndani ya asasi kwa ajili ya uendelevu wa utekelezaji wa malengo ya asasi
Katika hatua ya utekelezaji wa Masuala na Malengo ya Pwani-DPA,kupitia warsha ya kuandaa Mpango Mkakati wa miaka mitano 2011-2015 kwa Mkoa wa Pwani tumeazimia kuwekeza katika kujenga uelewa wa jamii kwa maana ya kujitambua na kudai haki zao katika mchakato wa Maendeleo kupitia majukwaa ya Mijadala ya Maendelea na Sera itakayoitwa Sera na Maendeleo " SEMA" majukwaa ya mijadala hii ya kila mwezi yatanzishwa na kuendelezwa katika makao makuu ya Wilaya zote za Mkoa wa Pwani lengo ikiwa ni kuwaleta pamoja wananchi na Viongozi wao katika ngazi ya Wilaya kujadili utekelezaji wa mipango ya maendeleo katika maeneo na yanayojitokeza kuwasilishwa kwenye mamlaka husika kwaajili ya kutafutiwa Ufumbuzi

1.0. PWANI – DPA OVERVIEW

 

1.1 Pwani Development Promotion Agency (Pwani-DPA) is a non- governmental organization established in July 2007 and registered on 22 October 2009 with its main goal of  promotion of developmental activities for the majority rural and urban Tanzanians, and in particular regard, to the underprivileged community of Pwani Region.


1.2. VISION:

PWANI- DPA. Envisions a healthy, well educated, prosperous and dignified Tanzanian society free from absolute poverty, environmental degradation and HIV/AIDS infections, care and support of the infected and affected, improved education, health services, economic status and friendly environment.

 

1.3. MISSION:

To provide strategic contribution towards support and empowerment of the needy, underprivileged and vulnerable segments of the Tanzanian population such as Pwani region, in addressing the socio-economic [health, education and environmental] challenges and needs facing them.

 

1.4. GOAL:

To support and empower the needy, underprivileged and vulnerable communities to address and mitigate the socio-economic, health, education and environmental problems afflicting them in order to improve their conditions of living.

 

1.5. OBJECTIVES:

The above Mission and Goal are translated into the following 14 main objectives:

 

  1.  Address HIV/AIDS/STDs issues through information, Education and

Communication for behavior change development and empower the most vulnerable groups particularly women, youths the down- trodden and those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and STDs in order to take appropriate steps to protect themselves and others from infection or for those already sero-converted to avoid repeated exposure;

  1.  Provide information, education and counseling services on gender, sexual and

reproductive health to the youth, women and the community in general;

 

  1.  Promote livelihood and life management skills among the community, and youths

and women in particular, through plausible facilitation techniques such as Stepping Stones, REFLECT and Life Skills;

 

  1.  Promote respect of human rights of people living with HIV/AIDS;

 

  1.  Solicit community support in addressing and advocating for children/youth and

women’s rights;

 

  1.  Enhance and facilitate poverty eradication strategies to the underprivileged and

the down trodden;

 

  1.  Enhance and develop a closer relationship between all agencies involved in

HIV/AIDS prevention, impact mitigation, counseling, poverty alleviation, environmental conservation through creation of income Generating Activities and environmental preservation programmes;

 

  1.  Enhance, support and promote innovative education and communication

techniques such as Stepping Stones, REFLECT and Life Skills education through participatory research on HIV/AIDS, STIs, environmental conservation and poverty alleviation for increased awareness and development;

 

  1.  Initiate, enhance, promote facilitate and support the empowerment of the

Underprivileged and down-trodden through increased social, economic and educational advancement in order to enable them attain better quality life;

 

  1.   Support national, regional and international efforts in the struggle against the

spread of HIV/AIDS, environmental degradation and poverty;

 

  1.  Enhance and promote poor households in accessing socio-economic facilities

such as education, health and water;

 

  1.   Establishing formal & informal education institutions for quality education,

particularly for those who miss it;

 

  1.    Establish a “Revolving Fund” that will provide very minimal interest loans to

youth and women groups to help them start and run income generating projects such as poultry keeping, diary cattle keeping, petty business, gardening, handcrafts, etc;

 

  1.  Promote programmes in the areas of gender, development, youth and women
