MWANASATU DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (MWADO)

       INTRODUCTION TO THE ORGANIZATION:-

MWANASATU is the name of a bridge which the road from Kibaya to Kondoa passes.Named that because the organization passes at that bridge from Kibaya Urban to the Villages where we enhance education to Widows and Widower Inheritance

Mwanasatu Development Organization (MWADO) is a non governmental and non for profit organization based at Kibaya in Kiteto district, in Manyara region, was first registered as a CBO in March 2009. it ws then registered as a Non Governmental Organization(NGO) in 22nd September, 2011 bearing a certificate of Registration No.00NGO/00004997. The head Office is located at Partimbo Village and the Organization was born of great concern of Widows and Widowers inheritance done by male relatives especially in Pastoralist communities and Agro-pastoralists' societies of Kiteto district.

The Organization adresses Widows and Widowers' Inheritance, Environment and Health Issues, Land Management, Sustainable Land Use Plan and Land Ownership, Livestock and Agrcultire, Climate Change, Sustainable Use and Uccess to Natural Resources and HIV/AIDS.

 AREA OF OPERATION:-

The area of operation of the organization is in Kiteto district and at such other places found deem feet in Tanzania Mainland.

MISION STATEMENT

To improve the lives of Widows and Widowers inheritance to Pastoralists, hunters, gathers and small scale farmers throuh provision of education, widening access to social services, support livestock and agriculturul production, gender and HIV/AIDS awareness, climate change, wise use of land and other natural resources guiding and ensuring participation, accountability, good governance and transparency.

An educated society, with access to social services and free from all kinds of discrimanation and injustices.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

To achieve the above Mission Mwanasatu employs the following strategic objectives which were formulated from Mwanasatu Core Values:

• To promote education to widows and widowers, elders, disabled pastoral societies.
• To support, facilitate and ensure the targeted pastoral and agro-pastoral societies engaged in gender programmes and their needs are heard for equitable and sustainable development
• To facilitate target communities in accessing basic social services: water, education, human health care
• To promote adequate pastoralists representation in decision making processes
• To support, facilitate and ensure sustainable living environment to the Pastoralist and Agro pastoralists’ communities and ensure livelihoods system of own choice
• To facilitate participatory development planning and fight against all forms of injustices, oppression, gender imbalances, poverty, hunger, ignorance and disease.
• To improve nutritional level of the marginalized groups, and broaden livelihood choices of the people.
• To enhance economic diversifications of the targeted group and instil modern norms.
• To create an enabling environment for pastoralist communities to assert their rights to ownership, use and management of natural resources including land.
• To strengthen the capacity of Mwanasatu Development Organization to attain its strategic objectives and aims.
