1. SHORT BRIEF

                     Msamaria create new hope for disadvantaged people in the communities in Arusha city. Is non Governmental organization, initiated by Mrs. Rose Mtana. 2000 being founder member started with 10 children. 6 died, 4 survived. Also cared 5 people living with HIV/ AIDS.

 

                   Within 2 years all died assisted by her family and friends. 2002 formed a group of 10 members to work together. 2003 registered the organization under trustee’s incorporation ordinance act 1956. Operation covered three wards Unga Ltd, Ngarenaro& Sombetini in Arusha Municipal. Then in January 2009 registered the Organization under National Level Changed name from Msamaria Orphans Trust to Msamaria Care , since then we are allowed to work through out in our country Tanzania

1. OBJECTIVES

-          To empower all target groups

-          To provides education in the communities

-          Fight against HIV/AIDS

-          Prevention of drugs abuse

-          To give human needs to disadvantaged people e.g food, clothes, shelters education and medical care

-          Children’s and widow’s rights

 

1. VISION.

To create hope for disadvantaged people to have a day care centre before building children’s home (Orphanage)

1. ACTIVITIES
   1. EDUCATION- Carried through local contributions no specific donor.

 

1. HOMEBASED CARE:

     Home visiting done to orphans and sick patients

     Also various counseling given for patients living with HIV/AIDS and people         encouraged to blood test to know their health

 

1. SAFE WATER:

                    Safe water project provide in two wards which are Unga ltd,                     Sombetini and Ngarenaro. 10 tap water implemented by global                     Alliance for Africa. They sell water Ts.

 

1. HIV/ AIDS PILOT SCHEMME:

People living with HIV/ AIDS assisted by being given small grants to improve their small business e.g. Selling charcoals vegetables etc were supplies Tsh 50,000/= up to 100,000/= . They used the profit for their expenditure. Capital remained as revolving funds. It was very useful project for them. Project operated for two years long stopped due to lack of contributions from international Organization of Global Illiance for Africa.

 

1. HEALTH PROGRAMME.

Done through health education.

Individuals groups families. Media care for children and adults. No specific sponsor modern toilet and shower implemented in two wards Ngarenaro and Unga Ltd. This project conducted by Arusha Rotary Club Internal

Malaria Programmed two nets had been supplied to poor families, 100 families benefited to it. The rest of families buys net for low price each Tshs 2,000/= instead of 7,000/= this program reduced children rate morality and adult suffering from malaria time to time. Net supplied 2009

 

 

1. BASIC HUMAN NEEDS:

           Communities supplied food, clothes education and medical care.

 

1. STRATEGIES.

-        Working as a term ( term work)

-        Faithful and transparent to donor and target groups

-        Good collaboration with government, Religions, leaders

-        Networking with other organization

-        Support provided by sponsor utilized well.

 

1. ACHIEVEMENT.

Organization extended its services, which means now allowed to work through out the country (National Level)

Got a land of 5 acres from the communities of Mamba. Miamba – Same District Kilimanjaro . Plot for orphanage Construction.

Construction can take place any time when we get fund

Many children educated by msamaria orphans care. Nursery school enrolled school from 2003 – up 2007 Secondary school level = and high school level up to 2010.

 

Nursery training school from 2006 stayed with first sponsor from 2003 up to now global Illiance for Africa.

 

1. CHALLENGES

-        No organization project generating income.

-        Rapid increasing of orphans we fail to meet our goal.

-        No Orphan’s home to keep them together

-        No allowances for Msamaria members

-        Lack of transport

-        Most of orphans are neglected in their homes

-        Orphans and people living with HIV/ AIDS due to lack of nutrition support (food) and medical care.

 

1. MSAMARIA FUNDING SOURCES

Since organization implemented had relied mainly on:-

Voluntarism of its msamaria member’s support

Local contribution s from people of Arusha city, companies’ individuals

Most of the young boys infected by drug abuse and HIV.
