MiDA

MiDA Tanzania is an acronym for Mass Initiatives Development Association Tanzania. It is a non-governmental organization registered by the Ministry of Home Affairs on 30th October,2006 and given the registration No. 14542 to operate countrywide. MiDA Tanzania was incorporated by the Ministry of Community Development Gender and Children on 31st December,2009.

Capacity building Organization

The organization was incorporated  in the Capacity Building  category and was given certificate of incorporation No. 0918. MiDA Tanzania envisages to work on four thematic areas which includes among others:

• Community Economic Development and Food Security
• Community health, Water, Sanitation and HIV/AIDS
• Environment and Ecology
• Education, Sports and Culture

MiDA Tanzania focus is to adress the challenges brought up by the communities themselves.  Being a capacity building organization MiDA has independent consultancy, training and research unit which is dedicated to do such activities, for details please visit the consultantancyunit in our website.

MiDA Tanzania is an organization with high potential with regard to its organogramme and personnel. The organization has capacity in development projects management and has competent people in the fields of environmental management,microfinance management, community development,project planning and management, community health and education. Besides, MiDA is guided by well formulated policies and a constitution to guide its operations. Up to this moment MiDA has been active through private contributions of the dedicated members to run the Mbulu and Arusha Offices . MiDA Tanzania has succeeded to partner up with international institutions such as Technical University of Vienna (Austria), Ex-change in Belgium and the Austrian Organization for Development Coorperation(Horizont3000) through its East Africa office based in Kampala-Uganda, the latter especially in the planning of a three year strategic plan.

MiDA Tanzania operations are guided by a three year strategic plan which is proposed for 2010 to 2012. In the strategic plan MiDA Tanzania redefines and refines its objectives and organizational focus both thematically and geographically.
