Introduction and back ground

Meatu district is found in Simiyu region and lies between latitude 2º 57¹and 4º 9¹ south of equator also longitude 34º 8¹ and 34º 49¹ East of Greenwich. The district’s total of area is 8,835 kilometers.

Administrative setting

Meatu is one of the 5 district in Simiyu region .Others are Bariadi, Busega, Maswa, and Itilima . At the present Meatu district is divided into three divisions. That is Kisesa in the North, Kimali at the center and Nyalanja in south. The divisions are subdivide in twenty five wards and each of an elected representative in the district council , The total of number of villages is 100.The district is also divided into two constituencies , namely as Kisesa and Meatu , and both have a representative of member of parliament
