Community Organization for Life and Development "COLD" has initiated a project called "TEGEMEZA", this project aims to help children all around to get their basic needs, hence education was given a first priority, for COLD believes that 'knowledge is power to bring about change in any society in the world. Through this project the organization has provided school uniforms and food for 55 orphans and those children living in difficult circumstances who are studying in Bugarama, Buyange and Ibanza primary schools in Kahama district. In this project the organization intends to do the following activities:- ¤ Pay school fees, buy school uniforms and other scholastic materials for the most vulnerabled children. ¤ To carry out an awareness campaign on how to protect themselves and prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS and malaria by providing education, information dissemination, counselling and life skills. ¤ Provide lunch at school for marginalized children in primary schools. ¤ Provide a building coping skils workshop for children/youths, women and people with disabilities that respond to the local needs. Our organization has received a donation of tshs 498,300/= from Kahama District Council Development Fund, and collect subscriptions from its members about tshs 577,300/= and a total of tshs 1,075,600/= which have been used:- * Buy school uniforms to (a) children orphaned boys 15, girls 23 total 38 have been used tshs 573,800/= (b) vulnerable children boys 9, girls 7 total 16, spent tshs 241,600/= and (c) children with disabilities boy 1, girl 0 total 1, spent 15,100/= shillings and general assistance was 830,500/= * Run a campaign to promote awareness on how to protect themselves and prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS and malaria by providing education, information dissemination, counselling and life skills, have been used tshs 143,800/= to remain crossed 101,300/=
