Establishment of first small scale plastic recycling factory in Zanzibar on early 2010, this is one of greater success of the organization. The recycling factory for plastic and glass was formed by the organization member based on personal funds. This factory contributes a lot in solid waste management and provides employment opportunity to the local community. Currently about 20 tones/month of plastic are processed and transported to Dar es salaam and Kenya. This output makes a total of 235 tones of plastic waste which are collected and recycled from Zanzibar since the establishment of the factory. And approximately 760 tones are exported to Dar es salaam since the association formed.

Training of local women and men of Matemwe village on solid waste management, these training courses cover the following aspects: Identification of different type of plastic materials based on international recycling key, storage and packaging and hygiene and health precautions major during the solid waste management activities.
