Expected project during this five years of our plan

 

Training and Capacity Building for HIV/AIDS.

Since 1986 many people became victims of abduction, rape and other human rights abuses in the hands of LRA. Internally women are clear justification of the magnitude. All these retrogressive activities hiked the poverty level in Kigoma Municipality sub region. HIV/AIDS has become a high pandemic in the region due to vulnerability of the Community. The age group of 15-35 years where about 70% of the affected population.

PROJECT GOAL

To reduced HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination by 10% by the year 2013.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. To educate Women and girls who are now exposed to the danger of poverty and HIV/AIDS by way of education and encouraging voluntary testing and counseling.

2. To lobby Local Government and donors to interface and support meaningfully the disadvantaged groups especially the women and girls.

3. To develop a comprehensive data base for the disadvantaged groups.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

 

1 .Mobilization

This shall include data collection and development of a database. The Identified shall be informed of the training that shall be carried out by technical personnel in Health Education.

2. Training

Experienced Health Educator will be the facilitator who shall deliver quality skills to the target group. This shall be conducted on face-to-face basis. This training shall be residential for 14 days (two weeks). There after, short refresher courses shall be conducted depending on the report and assessment from the monitoring and evaluation desk.

3. Monthly debates and moderation

A monthly debate and moderation among the target group before the general community shall be conducted from place to place thorough out the year.

4. Monitoring and Evaluation

The project team together with the local community and local government in Kigoma Municipal will monitor the project. The result should be measurable on the context of attitude, practice and knowledge of the community. The indicator should measure clearly the impact of the project in the community. The reports shall guide the management on any other

 

REDD+ Specifically Climate Change Mitigation Project.

Malagarasi and Ugalla river Basin have unique biodiversity with large population of endangered and endemic species. The project area is of substantial economic values to local, National and International communities through drastically important ecosystem services provide. The local communities therefore completely dependent on its nature resources including  hydrogical system, forest goods and services land fertility with carbon reduction function broadly including national and world wide

 

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. To create awareness and enhance capacity development and governance mechanisms for local communities and government institutions to administer and benefit from REDD

2. To strengthening efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation .

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

 

1 .Trainings of policy makers from national level to village levels, on sustainable Community Based Forest Managements, beekeepers, primary and secondary teachers, small business operators.

2. Establishing Primary School Tree Planting  Clubs, establishing land stewardship

3. Agreement and conservation easements with the Indigenous people, conserving.

4. Recognizing and supporting payment for provision of ecosystem services, adapting climatic strategies into village land use Monitoring and evaluation and  reporting.

Water for the Africa Women's Development.

The project actions will use local community members on the process of building 2rain-harvest tanks with capacity of 2500 liters each (two thousands five hundred liters each). The project expects to benefit 450 people directly within the village and other indirectly beneficiaries about 10000 people around the Ilagala village

PROJECT GOAL

Easy accessibility of water within society of people in Kigoma Tanzania, that lead for development.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. To mobilizes and organizes water resources towards community utilizations.

2. To increase access of basic needs at Ilagala village such as water.

3. To eradicate problem of water at Ilagala education and vocational training centre.

4. To support Ilagala education and vocationa training centre.

Kigoma Diabetes Care and Reduction.

Diabetes is a disorder of the metabolism causing excessive thirst and the production of large amounts of urine, mostly is caused by fairer of liver to work. All of these are caused by malnutrition; malnutrition imperils the viability of societies with survivors left crippled and chronically vulnerable to illness. Intellectually disabled, psychologically ill with poor reproductive and productive performance.

PROJECT GOAL

To raise public awareness on nutrition  for reduction of diabetes to the new generation and their inspire action among key population segments in Kigoma.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. To increase prioritization and implementation of nutrition for diabetes reduction within the District government development plans.

2. To training of Community Health Care Providers (CHCP).

3.   To raise awareness among the general population through radio and TV programmes.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

1. Train local government leaders on their responsibilities in reduction of diabetes

2. Train the community health care providers on nutrition and its relation to  diabetes, their capacities  are built each year for meaningful engagement

3. Develop a synthesis of policy map

4. Develop an advocacy and communication strategy  based on the policy synthesis map targeting nutrition for diabetes policy gaps across sectors and planning and budgeting processes at all level

5. Report and dissemination of the implementation of the advocacy and communication strategy

6. Support the cure of diabetes illness people

7. Running round table discussions to first bearing mother and other community members on  nutritional as reduction of diabetes for new generation

8. Develop media partnership and strategic for diabetes awareness creation. 

9. Train first mother bearing in 1000 days for child survival

10. Monitoring , evaluation and administration of the project

Future PLAN

GLASS future intervention plan for the five years to come, it highlights major policy and program priorities and engagement at village, Ward and district levels in Kigoma district. This is our operational plan intends to address Issues Which from the analysis of the local context. The external contexts have been analyzed and given priority in making our engagement is not connected to what ppening in plan.

This plan is a result of different interactions at community, district and national level where different stakeholders have contributed IDEAS and concerns. Looking at the first goals set at the beginning of the GLASS in 2001, we are Certain that most of the target set in Education, Agriculture, HIV / AIDS, Women Rights and Governance have been met. The fulfillment of these goals made GLASS targeted to Consider and develop five years (2011 - 2015) phase out strategy. The program will utilize and strengthening the Capacity of community members to have more competence in diagnosing their problem and find sustainable solutions.
