Vision: A well advanced literary swahili world.

Mission: To unearth, safeguard, protect and promote the culture of swahili people through

             the a vibrant literate culture using the literary word

Objectives: 1. Align Millenium Development Goals MDGs with literary developments

                2. Assist, transcribe and translate/interpret  to especially NGOs, the vulnerable

                    communities and where requested

                3. Advance the literary word as adopted adapted and utilized along the diasporas

                4. Cooperate with stakeholders in developing the Kiswahili Language

                5. Ensure assistances to young and upcoming writers

                4. Empower young organizations develop their literatures, advance documents

                5. Cooperate with Development partners at ensuring targeted literatures are well

                    covered and appreciated

                6. Carry out public lectures, seminar, training workshops and writers workshop

                    aiming to develop good quality writers

                7. Employ useful ways to encourage literalisms on the islands

                8. Establish a Zanzibar Book Center (ZABOC) with a modern Library and

                   social networking mechanism

                9. Train young artists with writing skills, languages and the use of Translations

                   and Interpretations

               10. Document developments on the Islands using the literary word and auxiliaries

ZAWI iliundwa mwaka 2005 na kusajiliwa mwaka 2007 kwa kupatiwa nambari ya usajili 622 kutoka kwa mrajis wa vyama wa serikali ya mapinduzi ya zanzibar. Marekebisho ya serikali imefanya izorote hadi sasa kuendelea kazi zake hususan kwa jamii ya kizanzibari, yategemea kuwa na matawi wilayani mote Unguja na Pemba na mpango kazi umo katika kuendelezwa
