GROW NEXT LEVEL: Practical Field Work

The Grow Next Level (GNL) Program was intended to provide coaching skills to the young champions. The program was designed to accommodate twenty-five (25) champions who preceded the volunteer training that was organized in 2014. Please the list of participants who attended the session in attachment.

In first two weeks from 24/8/2015 to 6/9/2015 the program organized an intensive training program that required fully attendance of all participants from Monday to Friday. The participants got opportunity to study and cover the following topics:-

  • Introductions of GNL
  • Six modules
  • Six thinking hat
  • Creativities and innovation
  • Good ideas and bad ideas
  • Using Lotus flowers tools

Tanzania Youth Icon(TAYI) was Launched in 2011 and has now  networked with several other NGOs in effort to strengthen the fight for national development and socio economic development. It has engaged in developing its capacity through training in the focal area of its mission and vision, with a committed Executive Committee and staff members, peer educators, financial officer and youth population.

TAYI has been supported by various organizations like Zanzibar Port Authority, Zanzibar Socio Security Funds, The Peoples Bank of Zanzibar, Commission of Technology and Sciences, Puma Energy Ltd, Zanzibar Water Authority, Ministry of Labour and Economic Empowerment in Zanzibar, Ministry of Education and Vocational Training in Zanzibar and UNICEF, UNDP and other development Partners.

TAYI AND COMMUNITY REHABILITATION PROGRAM . The Community Rehabilitation Programme (‘CRP’) was established by the Ministry of Labour, Empowerment, Elders, Youth, Women and Children (MLEEYWC), in partnership with UNICEF and Tanzania Youth Icon (TAYI) in July 2015. Financial support for the establishment and operation of the The Programme has been provided is funded by the EU (through UNICEF) until December 2017.The Programme provides a community-based diversionary option and alternative sentencing measure for children in conflict with the law, and a preventative measure for children at risk of offending, in order to operationalise provisions of the Children’s Act 2011, which provides for diversion and sets out a range of diversion and alternative (non-custodial) sentencing options.
