INTRODUTION

I.A.V.C. was established in Zanzibar on 28th March 2005. This Civil Society, is a non-governmental, voluntary, independent and non-profit making organization whose major aim is to contribute, provide and improve life conditions to Zanzibar society especially to the vulnerable children, orphans of HIV/AIDS, widows, street children and other disadvantaged groups of society and direct them to the better life principals by preparing an equal ground and opportunity to them so to learn in various aspects of life skills and vocational training to be independent in getting jobs or start their own projects,

Integral Assistance to vulnerable children is registered company limited by Guarantee and not having share capital headed (under companies Decree cap 153) of the laws of Zanzibar-Tanzania and we have been registered with a Registration No. L09322007.

VISION

I.A.V.C. vision seeks to see Zanzibar is built on a free and healthy society which has access to all social services disregard of any hindrances.

MISSION STATEMENT

I.A.V.C. is dedicated to impart society with better life norms through the provision of educational and health training centres, recreational centers, conducting counseling, seminars, workshop and tangible assistance.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

Briefly, the main objectives of this organization are:

1.   To promote the welfare of the most vulnerable groups which include street children, the displaced peoples, and the old by providing them with settlements and complimentary basic education as well as skills development and primary health care services.

2.   To promote programmes in the areas of rural and urban families, health, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV/AIDS, widows, single parents, youth, refugees, women, family planning, environment and vocational training

3.   To promote women and children’s exchange programmes.

4.   To carry out projects and programmes in the areas of children, youth, street children, child abuse, child labour, early childhood education, orphans, abandoned children, disabled children, children in prisons, youth vocational training, conflicts resolutions and human rights.

5.   To communicate and disseminate information about children, youth, street children, child abuse, child labour, early childhood education, disabled children, children in prisons, displaces people and youth vocational training as widely as possible using workshops, books, pamphlets, posters, videos, radios and TV programmes, songs and any other audio visual materials.

6.   To organize workshops, seminars and conferences locally, nationally and internationally on conflicts resolutions and human rights.

7.   To establish social services delivery centre including dispensaries, health centre and education, training institutions, orphanages and retreat centers.

THE NEEDS OF STRATEGIC PLAN

IAVC centre has many long-term goals, which will enable us to continue to provide for the less IAVC children. IAVC got 106 children and among the 70 are attending to school. With more children now attending school, we are looking a sponsor to help us to pay school fees and other school supplies for 70 children in our centre. Things like living quarters for must also contend with some of the more immediate needs. We have made a great deal of progress in the past months, but we also still have a long way to go. If we are to continue providing the children with the care they need and deserve, then we must maintain items.

Some of the goals will take time to achieve, but they are all achievable. Below are some of the more immediate needs IAVC faces.

OFFICE NEEDS :  Computers 3, Photocopy machine,  Printers 2, Stationary material

We are still in need of Mattresses (20)

Sheets and mattress covers, bath towels, shower curtains and rods, toilet paper holders and towel racks as well as other supplies.

We are still in need of a propane-powered stove.

Shoes (especially men’s sizes 6-10) and sandals are another item that is often needed. I am sure that children can appreciate what it must be like trying to keep this many growing children in footwear! If they are not growing out of them, they simply wear them out.

Along with the shoes there is always of course a need for clothing. Pants, shirts underwear, etc. are always needed. Currently long pants and polo or button-down shirt are needed most not only for the younger children, but also older boy sizes as well. As you can imagine, trying to keep all these growing children in clothing is a major task in itself and a continuous problem.

To add to all of this, getting these items to the orphanage presents a whole new issue as often the cost of shipping will exceed the value of the items. For this reason, though we are happy to accept all donations of clothing it is usually recommended and more economical for those waiting to help with clothing to instead make a donation to the orphanage operating fund.

We are in need of sewing machines; this machine will be used not only to help with mending the children’s clothes, but also to teach some of the children and women how to sew.

We are hoping to add computer training to our agenda and for this we are looking to acquire approximately 15 computer systems. Of course desks, software (English language) and related materials will also be needed as well as UPS equipment.

SCHOOL NEEDS.

Text books and other school supplies have always been a constant need. With more children now attending school, there sometimes is not enough to go around and we are in desperate need of many item such as pens, composition books, art paints, compasses and protractors for geometry, rulers are also greatly needed.

Schools fees and Uniforms supplies, we are looking a sponsor to help to pay school fees for 20 children.

PHYSICAL NEED

Physically education is also important to the children’s health and happiness. We need sports facilities to enhance their vibrancy for example basketball, Soccer and Netball facilities and equipments so as to reach  their goals in life comfortably..

FOOD ASSISTANCE

We are in needs of Beans, Sugar, Cooking salt, Vegetable oil, Rice, milk, and other relegated feeds…

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

Medicines and other pertinent medical support like referrals and other fees that ay needed from time to time.

OLD AGE WIDOWS’ NEEDS : Blankets, Mosquito nets, Food Nutrients, Cleaning materials (detergents, soap, water etc), Clothes, s

Shoes, Medical and Old age care, social welfare care to the old and so forth.
