CENTRE FOR INFORMAL SECTOR PROMOTION(CISP) – is a local NGO based in Tanga Region, Tanzania. Registered Ministry of Home Affairs with Certificate of Compliance No. 1687 of 18”th August 2006, under the Non Governmental Organization Act of 2002, section 11(3) of Act no. 24; Its main objective amongst other things is to foster development programmes and development community based programs among youth, men, women, elderly and others as a whole. The objectives behind CISP is to organise, support and develop self help initiatives community based development programs which aim to alleviate poverty and promote economic growth through generation of sustainable incomes linked to productive working opportunities that will increase self employment as well incomes for the communities through economically viable projects. CISP works in Tanga, Muheza, Mkinga, Pangani, Korogwe and Handeni districts in Tanga region. CISP has a strong regional wide network which operates effectively up to village level through its local branches. CISP’s organization structure consists of a Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Planning and Implementing, Finance and Management committees with orther development organs and it incorporates resouceful persons.Working with local and foreigns firms on various projects, CISP has gain experience, capacity and ability as an NGO to organize and implement development projects.
