Tanzania Community based Options for Protection and Empowerment (TACOPE) is a national non governmental organization that promotes community development in Tanzania. TACOPE is committed to contribute to a community of confident children and youth who can enjoy their childhood/ livelihood and are able to further develop themselves. TACOPE was registered under Tanzania NGO Act number 24 of 2002 with registration number 00NGO/0883 in the day of 11th July 2005. TACOPE Tanzania at a Glance: TACOPE want to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate-income communities around the Tanzania, helping them improve their social, economic and environmental conditions. TACOPE brings together communities, government bodies, local organizations, school, donor agencies and the private sector to design and implement our development programs. We bring to bear all of our relevant areas of expertise to the needs identified by our partner communities and through integrated, holistic programming; we help people around the national to meet their needs in difficult circumstances. Our aim is to leave behind a legacy of sustainable change and communities that are empowered to drive their own future development. To do this, we are guided by the following principles:

We follow community priorities: TACOPE actively seeks out the needs of the communities where we work through participatory action. We listen to those needs and undertake our work on the basis of those needs.

We are demand led: TACOPE only undertakes projects that the community states as a priority. Once the demand is no longer there, TACOPE passes on the completed projects into the suitably prepared hands of the community and local authorities.

We work locally: TACOPE employs local labour, uses local materials, and creates solutions that are appropriate to the region where they are implemented. Over 99% of our people are from the rural – even the communities – where they work.

We build self-sufficiency: The aim of all TACOPE work is to facilitate community development and build the capacity of local partners, schools, governments and the private sector to create communities who are economically, socially and environmentally self-sufficient.

We form productive partnerships: TACOPE partners with communities, schools, government, the private sector and other international and local organizations in order to ensure that our projects have the greatest positive impact and value possible for the communities with whom we work. Each year 80-90% of our income is spent on programs.

Our Vision: is to see Tanzanian community being out of poverty and miserly.

Governance: TACOPE governed by annual general Meeting and Board of Directors; in programme management also TACOPE has a strong and complimentary structure, which fields with an Executive Director, General Secretary, Finance and Administration officer, Project officers and other supportive staff. This structure aims at placing greater human resources closer to the communities with whom TACOPE works and strengthening program and project development through team management.

Current project: The organization is currently running three projects namely: Health for all which promotes health, nutrition, household food security and income generation, the second program is an Education Project which promotes quality education through provision of Early Childhood Education especially in the rural communities, Support science equipments and books to secondary school and the third is Women entrepreneurship development initiative which facilitate small loan Income generation activities selection, Planing and management to women, the projects is meant to empower women and community members financially so that they are able to contribute towards care and education for their children. Also TACOPE has supported primary school 256 orphans children in food and nutrition, school uniform, desks, shoes and exercise books etc. This programme focuses initially on school going children, and immediate school environment and increasing access to quality education.

Tanzania Jumuiya ya msingi Options ya Ulinzi na Uwezeshaji (TACOPE) ni ya kitaifa isiyo ya kiserikali ambayo inakuza maendeleo ya jamii nchini Tanzania. TACOPE ni nia ya kuchangia watoto wa jamii ya ujasiri na vijana ambao wanaweza kufurahia utoto wao / maisha na kuweza kuendeleza zaidi wenyewe. TACOPE ilisajiliwa chini ya Sheria ya NGO Tanzania namba 24 ya mwaka 2002 kwa usajili namba 00NGO/0883 katika siku ya Julai 11, 2005. Ofisi ya mkuu wa shirika la msingi katika jiji la Mwanza na nyingine ya tawi katika mkoa wa Kigoma

TACOPE Tanzania katika ujumla: TACOPE wanataka kuwa kichocheo cha mabadiliko chanya ya kudumu kwa muda mrefu na wastani wa kipato cha jamii za karibu na Tanzania, kuwasaidia kuboresha maisha yao, kiuchumi na mazingira na hali ya kijamii. TACOPE huleta pamoja jamii, vyombo vya serikali, mashirika ya ndani, shule, mashirika ya wafadhili na sekta binafsi kwa kubuni na kutekeleza mipango ya maendeleo yetu. Sisi kuleta kubeba wote wa maeneo yetu muhimu ya utaalamu na mahitaji ya kutambuliwa na jamii yetu mpenzi na kwa njia ya mshikamano, programu ya kiujumla; sisi kusaidia watu walio karibu ya taifa ya kukidhi mahitaji yao katika mazingira magumu. Lengo letu ni kuacha nyuma historia ya mabadiliko endelevu na jamii kuwa ni uwezo wa kuendesha maisha yao ya baadaye wenyewe maendeleo. Kufanya hili, sisi ni kuongozwa na kanuni zifuatazo:

Sisi kufuata vipaumbele jamii: TACOPE kikamilifu kuwatafutia mahitaji ya jamii ambazo sisi kazi kwa vitendo shirikishi. Sisi kusikiliza mahitaji hayo na kufanya kazi zetu kwa misingi ya mahitaji hayo.

Sisi ni mahitaji ya kuongozwa: TACOPE tu kinafanya miradi ambayo inasema jamii kama kipaumbele. Mara moja mahitaji ni tena huko, TACOPE hupita katika miradi ya kukamilika katika mikono ya suitably tayari kwa jamii na serikali za mitaa.

Sisi kazi ndani: TACOPE inaajiri wafanyakazi wa ndani, anatumia vifaa vya ndani, na inajenga ufumbuzi kuwa ni sahihi kwa nchi ambako ni kutekelezwa. Zaidi ya 99% ya watu wetu ni kutoka katika maeneo ya vijijini - hata ya jamii - ambapo wao kazi.

Sisi kujenga kujitosheleza: Lengo la TACOPE kazi yote ni kuwezesha maendeleo ya jamii na kujenga uwezo wa washirika wa ndani, shule, serikali na sekta binafsi kujenga jamii ambao ni kiuchumi, kijamii na mazingira ya kujitegemea.

Sisi kuunda ushirika wa uzalishaji, washirika TACOPE na jamii, shule, serikali, sekta binafsi na ya wengine na ndani ya mashirika ya kimataifa ili kuhakikisha kwamba miradi yetu ya kuwa na athari kubwa chanya na thamani inawezekana kwa jamii ambaye sisi kazi. Kila mwaka 80-90% ya mapato yetu ni kutumika katika mipango.

Maono yetu: ni kuona jamii ya Tanzania kuwa nje ya umaskini na ubahili.

Utawala: TACOPE serikali na Mkutano Mkuu wa Mwaka na Bodi ya Wakurugenzi, katika usimamizi wa mpango TACOPE pia ina na complimentary muundo imara, ambayo mashamba pamoja na Mkurugenzi Mtendaji, Katibu Mkuu, Fedha na Utawala afisa, maafisa wa Mradi na wengine kuunga mkono wafanyakazi. utaratibu huu unalenga katika kuweka mkubwa wa rasilimali za binadamu karibu na jamii ambaye TACOPE kazi na mpango wa kuimarisha na maendeleo ya mradi wa njia ya usimamizi wa timu.

Sasa mradi: Shirika ni sasa mbio miradi ya tatu ambazo ni: Afya kwa wote ambayo inakuza afya, lishe, kaya usalama wa chakula na kipato, mpango wa pili ni ya Mradi wa Elimu ambayo inakuza elimu bora kwa njia ya utoaji wa Mafunzo ya Elimu hasa katika maeneo ya vijijini jamii , vifaa vya sayansi Support na vitabu kwa shule za sekondari na wa tatu ni mpango wa maendeleo ya Wanawake ujasiriamali ambayo kuwezesha ndogo mkopo shughuli za uzalishaji mapato uteuzi, planing na usimamizi kwa wanawake, miradi ni maana ya kuwawezesha wanawake na jamii kifedha ili wawe na uwezo wa kuchangia kwa huduma na elimu kwa watoto wao. TACOPE pia ina mkono wa shule ya msingi ya watoto yatima 256 katika chakula na lishe, sare za shule, madawati, viatu na madaftari nk Mpango huu unalenga awali juu ya watoto kwenda shule, na ya haraka mazingira ya shule na kuongeza kwa elimu bora.
