ASASI isiyokuwa ya Kiserikali ya Tanzania Community Media Organization (TACOMO) yenye makao makuu mkoani Mbeya, imesema ugonjwa wa matundu sehemu za siri kwa wanawake (Fistula) umekuwa mkubwa mkoani humo hivyo Serikali inatakiwa kuvalia njuga ugonjwa huo unaotibika.

 

Wakizungumza na waandishi wa habari mkoani Mbeya, viongozi wa asasi hiyo wamesema asasi yao imefanya uchunguzi kwa zaidi ya mwaka mmoja sasa na kubaini maeneo yenye wagonjwa wengi wa Fistula ikiwemo wilaya ya Mbeya Vijijini na Mbozi.

 

Mkurugenzi mtendaji wa shirika hilo Gordon Kalulunga alisema katika wilaya hizo baadhi ya maeneo ndiyo ulikotopea(komaa) ugonjwa huo na wanawake wengi wanashindwa kujitokeza kutibiwa ugonjwa huo kutokana na elimu duni ya matibabu ya ugonjwa huo ambao matibabu yake yanatolewa bure na Serikali.

 

Kalulunga alizitaja wilaya za Mbozi na Mbeya Vijijini kuwa ni wilaya za mkoa wa Mbeya zenye wagonjwa wanawake wengi walioathiriwa na ugonjwa huo wa Fistula hivyo Serikali kupitia Wizara ya Afya inapaswa kuchukua hatua za makusudi kuwarejeshea utu wanawake wenye matatizo hayo ya Fistula kwa kuanzisha kampeni yenye tija kwa kushirikiana na Hospitali teule ya Ifisi na Hospitali ya Rufa ya Mbeya kitenmgo cha wazazi Meta.

 

Aidha alisema mbali na kushirikiana na Hospitali hizo pia Serikali iongeze wataalam katika Hospitali hizo wenye uwezo wa kutibu Fistula tofauti na sasa ambapo Hospitali hizo zina Mganga mmoja mmoja wenye uwezo wa kutibu ugonjwa huo.

 

‘’Tumefanya uchunguzi wa muda mrefu tangu mwezi Mei mwaka 2010 na kubaini kuwa wanawake wengi katika wilaya hizo wana Fistula lakini hawajajitokeza kutibiwa kwa kuogopa na wanatengwa katika shughuli za kijamii na baadhi wamekimbiwa na waume zao hivyo tunaiomba Serikali ichukue Jitihada za makusudi kuanzisha kampeni za kuwasaidia wanawake hao zitakazopelekea kupata matibabu na ikiwezekana matangazo yatengenezwe na Haki Elimu’’ alisema Kalulunga.

 

Kwa upande wake Mwenyekiti wa asasi hiyo Angelica Sullusi alisema ugonjwa huo hutokana na jeraha wanalopata kina mama wakati wa kujifungua baada ya kupata uchungu kwa muda mrefu na pia kuwa na njia ndogo ya uzazi kiasi kwamba kichwa cha mtoto kinashindwa kupita kwa usalama wakati wa kujifungua.

Asasi hiyo ya Tacomo inaiunganisha jamii ili kujaliana na kutokomeza umasikini katika nyanja za Kilimo, Afya na kusaidia jitihada za Serikali katika kuwezesha Vijana, wanawake, wazee, kushiriki na kushirikishwa katika shughuli za Maendeleo ya nchi na kuibua mijadala ya hoja.
