MAJUKUMU YA SERIKALI ZA MITAA.

 

Halmashauri za Manispaa zimeanzishwa chini ya sheria za Mamlaka za Miji (Local Government Urban Authorities Act. 1982).
Majukumu makuu ya Serikali za Mitaa yaliyofafanuliwa na sheria hiyo ni kama ifuatavyo:-

  • Kusimamia na kudumisha amani ulinzi na usalama katika maeneo ya mipaka yake.
  • Kuhamasisha/kuendeleza na kuwapatia huduma bora za kijamii na kiuchumi wananchi walio katika eneo la mipaka ya Halmashauri.
  • Kusimamia sera za maendeleo ya kiuchumi na kijamii katika maeneo yao.
  • Kuchukua hatua madhubuti za kuhifadhi na kuendeleza mazingira.
  • Kusimamia utawala, fedha, mambo yote ya uendeshaji katika ngazi mbalimbali zilizo ndani ya mamlaka ya Halmashauri ya Manispaa/Jiji.
  • Kusimamia na kuhakikisha demokrasia inadumishwa katika jamii.
  • Kukusanya mapato yatakayowezesha mamlaka ya serikali ya mtaa kuendesha shughuli zake pamoja na kutoa taarifa za matumizi kupitia kamati mbalimbali.
  • Kutoa huduma mbalimbali za kiuchumi na kijamii pamoja na kutekeleza shughuli za maendeleo katika maeneo yao.
  • Kuzingatia na kutambua masuala mtambuka kama vile Jinsia (accord due recognition to and, promote, gender awareness).
  • 10. Kuendeleza na kusimamia kanuni za biashara, viwanda, kilimo n.k.
  • 11. Kusimamia na kuendeleza huduma za Afya, Elimu, Maji, Utamaduni na masuala ya burudani katika jamii.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

Municipal Councils were established under the authority of the town (Local Government Urban Authorities Act. 1982).
Major Responsibilities of Local Government and the law is clarified as follows: -

  • Managing and maintaining peace and security protection in the areas of its territory.
  • Supporting / developing and providing quality social services and economic citizens who in the council area boundaries.
  • Managing policies of economic and social development in their areas.
  • Taking steps to preserve and sustain the environment.
  • Manage administrative, financial, all operating at different levels within the authority of the Municipal Council / City.
  • Manage and ensure democracy inadumishwa community.
  • Revenue collection in which local authorities operate and provide consumer information through various committees.
  • Providing a range of services including economic and social development and implement activities in their areas.
