MWAYODEO has, since December 2011 been implementing Councilor Oversight Coaching for Mvomero, Morogoro and Mufindi district councils. The focus area is on water sector. This is done after it has been qualified to be a local capaicty builder (LCB) of SNV to address issues related to good governance and accountability under PATA programme.

So far Councilors from the mentioned councils have improved their oversight role, became more accountable and are capable enough to make management team more accountable for the resources entrusted to them.

These trainings have brought positive changes to the councils in terms of accountability. For instance, some district officials like DPLOs, DTs even DEDs are becoming more transparent unlike the way it used to be.
