Over the past few years there has been an increase of teenage pregnancies in our secondary schools here in mwanza. We at Education For Better Living Organization (EBLI) have embarked on working with teachers, parents, community members and the local goverment in five secondary schools to find out a lasting solution to this problem. We believe that the consequences of premarital sex is heaviest felt by the girls more than the boys given that they are the ones who have to drop out of school while the boys go on with their education. This leads to poverty, diseases and social breakdown of the moral code that is the basic fabric of the society.
