PROJECT MANE: - IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF MOTHER AND CHILD

SUMMARY

The campaign goal is to increase the rate of breastfeeding babies exclusively breastfed for at least six months earlier by 50 percent by 2025. PROBLEM

Malnutrition is responsible for over one third of child deaths every year in Tanzania. In fact, about 130 children die every day in Tanzania from causes related to malnutrition, and it is the single greatest cause of child deaths in the country. Malnutrition is also one of the factors responsible for the high number of maternal deaths. More than 10 million women in Tanzania are anemic due to iron deficiency, and more than 1600 women die each year from anemia during childbirth.

The project will solve the problem by encourage health care providers at clinics and health centers and hospitals to implement the 10 tips to achieve feeding children breast milk, Encourage community leaders to encourage breastfeeding mother in the family, Encourage the community at large to support women to breastfeed their children exclusively breastfed in the first six months, Influential councilors and MPs to pass the budget and incorporate nutrition into the development plans of councils and Enabling young mothers with a capital to help them to buy nutritious foods for them and their children.
