The definition of Talasila is a processing, guarding and take care of delicate object (as it takes care for eggs, then to children-is extended from Makonde vernacular word KUTALASILA.

The Talasila Trust target groups are vulnarable groups such as orphans, widows elders, disabled, most vulnarable children (MVC) people living with HIV/AIDS and STDs in the community.

Objectives

1. to run and manage centres for children who have lost their parents and are in need of new home
2. To intergrate abondened children and children without parents of all races cultural and religions into the society, and to guide them to a safe future.
3. To promote welfare and social functioning of chidren with disabilities.
4. To promote the culture/value of love, justice freedom peace dignity, and moral development among the people of Tanzania.
5. To own and use information technologies, eqipments such as radio, television telecommunication facilities computers, magazine, Newspapers books etc.

Immediate objectives

1. Improve food security at household level within community
2. Improve livehood and basic education
3. combating HIV/AIDS effects and trasmission
4. Environment protection and improvement
5. Lobbing and advocancy to school girls agaist early pregnancies and HIV/AIDS infection and transmission
6. Addressing consequencies of HIV/AIDs effects to socio-economic in the community
