2009

In 2009, Southern Corridor Development Association (SOCODEA) was given administration of former Polisi Iringa Football Club, one of the national football teams - which was previously owned by the police force (hence the name), today the players are no longer police men but normal citizens.

SOCODEA assisted the team through a monthly monetary support and donation. The cooperation with the team was and will be used as an outreach tool to reach youths and football fans from Iringa and Tanzania with the main aim of supporting orphans and street children in Iringa by taking them as ball boys and helping them to become interested in football.

The same year, SOCODEA started a cooperation with Amani Centre, an orphanage situated in Kilolo district, aiming to create a better aknowledgement and awareness through seminars on HIV/AIDS and gender based violence and training for prevention (Ca. 250 students participated in total). SOCODEA gave assistance and contribution for food, trainers, excercise books, toothbrushes, soap, clothes, etc.

2010

In 2010 there was the establishment of 18 football teams (in the 18 Iringa's words) to attract many youths to join local group discussions. Different themes where treated, as HIV/AIDS; as a result youths now spend more time in football games instead of exposing themselves to risk factors. SOCODEA was able to distribute balls and jersey to local teams in the eighteen (18) Iringa town's wards.

The same year, SOCODEA started to collaborate with Songambele Women’s Group (formerly Upendo group), a group which is mainly focused on women empowerment. SOCODEA gave them monetary support.

In 2003, the founder of Kimama Group Nursery, an organisation for the environmental conservation and sustainability, had the idea of planting trees in a dry area to make it fertile, starting to plant fruit and vegetables, flower and plant nursery. At the beginning all the funds were used to pay water for the plant nursery, the costs over-weighted the benefits (Negative profit), the bank account was closed. In 2010 SOCODEA started to cooperate with the Kimama Group Nursery, offering monetary support.
