LISAWE is non Governmental Organization which is abbreviated from the word Lindi Support Agency for Welfare. It is a non political and Non profit Making Organization which is based in Lindi Town,Tanzania and operates in Lindi Region comprising 5 Districts.LISAWE was established in 1999 by 10 women and registered officially on 18th October 2000 under Trusteeship Ordinance Cap 358. After the enactment of the NGO Act of 2002, LISAWE was obliged to ask for a certificate of compliance from the Vice President's office. The certificate issued to LISAWE is numbered 1927 and dated 13th September 2007. Currently the organization has fifteen members who are 5 men and 10 women. Membership is now open for women and men aged 18 years and above. Honorary membership is also granted to individuals, Organizations and institutions.

LISAWE’s Vision is "Lindi be free from poverty and its people become self reliant economically and hygienically sound".
MISSION:To empower and increase awareness through information to Lindi District community on various issues to enable them acquire knowledge, skills and health to fight against poverty in collaboration with other stakeholders.
