Pact Tanzania
KIMWAM is a partner to the Pact Tanzania in delivering essential services to vulnerable children Mtwara Mikindani Municipal Council. This project was implemented through the collaboration with Mtwara Mikindani Municipal Council. More than 1,000 most vulnerable children and 750 care takers benefited directly from this project. Services delivered include: school materials, CHF cards, and income generation activities for family and care takers. This project was funded by USAID.
Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC)
Since 2006 KIMWAM is working in partnership with the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC) to implement “The Mtwara community based coastal resources management and sustainable livelihood project”. This project is aimed to enhance participatory management of coastal resources and alleviate income poverty for fisheries community.
SWISSAID Tanzania
Swissaid is funding KIMWAM to Support Grassroot organisations in Mtwara region including small scale fishing groups, famers groups and small business. Kimwam is also running microfinance (Grameen model and revolving fund) in partnership with Swissaid Tanzania. Grameen and revolving fund has helped coastal communities and fishers groups to improve their living standard such as buying clothes, food, and good houses and be able to buy improved fishing gears.
The foundation for civil society
KIMWAM is partner to the Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) in implementing “Advocacy for participatory coastal resources management and sustainable livelihood programme” in the villages within Mnazi Bay Ruvuma Estuary Marine Park (MBREMP).
The World Wide Fund
KIMWAM is partner to World Wide Fund (WWF) in implementing “Advocacy for participatory coastal resources management and sustainable livelihood programme” in the villages within Mnazi Bay Ruvuma Estuary Marine Park (MBREMP).
Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA)
KIMWAM is cooperating with Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA) and Institute of Marine Science (IMS) of University of Dar es salaam to implement “Sustainable Milkfish farming; Cost -Effective methods to increase Food supply, Incomes and Employment in Mtwara Coastal Communities”. This project was funded by ReCoMap.
