Kagitumba high school is a government that started its teaching activities in 1998.

It started as a very small school with only Ordinary Level section. But one year later it started advanced level with Humanities and Bio-chemistry.

The school is located a few Kilometres from the Uganda-Rwanda Boarder near Matimba Town.

Despite its humble begining, the school has established itself as one of excellent schools in the Eastern Province.

Kagitumba High School currently has 748 studentsof whom 382 are Female. The school acommodates 600 stduents.
