OBJECTIVES
• To reduce the rate of new infections among the infected and prevent those who are not infected through HIV prevention
• To sensitize communities to engage in socio-economic activities and improve their dignified quality of life.
• to advocate and lobby on gender issues and ultimately empower women both economically and socially.
• To enhance on good governance, human rights and in the fight against corruption within government and private organization.
• To promote health and especially in the designing of effective intervention strategies to combat Malaria and Tuberculosis.
• To conserve environment.
• To build collaboration in communication and information exchange with other organizations, government and other networks, national and international organizations.
PROGRAMS
We have been working in the area of HIV/AIDS since our inception. These areas include Prevention and Controlling, Home Based Care, Peer Education, Care and Support. Our strategic plan in implementation of these areas involves a number of innovative and intervention activities such as awareness creation about the epidemic, advocacy and lobbying, establishment or promotion of income generating activities especially to women to combat poverty.
As we grow and gain experience we have embarked to other programs of Poverty alleviation, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Gender, Democracy and Human rights, Environment and Community development in general. These programs are not implemented in isolation but are mainstreamed in all of our daily activities.
STRUCTURE AND GOVERNING COUNCIL
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) which comprised of all KACA members is a supreme body where all important decision is made.
The Governing Council is responsible for the conduct of the organization’s general operations, performing duties under power delegated by the council. The Governing Council meets regularly at headquarters in Moshi town. Council serve Audit and budget for development programmes, administration matters etc. The key staff in the Governing, Council are Chairperson, Coordinator, Program Officer, Trasurer, Peer educator, and HIV Counselor.
