FODEO is non-government organization and not for profit Organization established to facilitate in development supporting and promoting in mainland area of the United Republic of Tanzania. It stimulate and motivate indigenous community members, small-scale community based organization, faith based and gender based organization. The organization also attempts to utilize efficiently economic and social opportunities to yield maximum output and grasp market shares at a significant rate. The organization shall be services oriented and a not-for –profit making entity Regd: by Tanzania law Made Under section 12(2) of Act No 24 of 2002. Regs No. 00003431 of 17th,September,2009.

OBJECTIVES.

a)   Health promotion on safe motherhood initiatives and childhood care for reducing maternal and childhood morbidity and mortality rates.

 

b)   Community capacity building and tree planting awareness and reliable stove construction technology impacted to the community is simple and transferable.

 

c)   The importance of community involvement through village social welfare committees in participatory, planning and supervising the implementation of the laid down committee planned project activities

 

d)   To reduce the prevailing conflicts amongst the Villagers and their respective leaders so as to harness and strengthen good governance.

We are working in rural area to support grass root people, we are still need support from deference stakeholder so as have sustainable development process towards improved socio-   economic living standard of the community . The Organization have 2 volunteers who support FODEO to implement their project. we are requesting any kind of support, donation of equipment, money or professional people how can help in project planning, monitoring and evaluation, we need experts on environment conservation, Nutrition, Legal rights and stake holder involvement in order reduce conflict among communities by considering land user . `Your welcome’’

MEMBERSHIP

FODEO have three types of Membership.

FODEO have 8 members (male 6 female 2) who are decision maker and top talking about organization. Members held meeting at one time in the year, if there is any issue needed to be discussed an emergence meeting can be held

 AREA OF WORK.

FODEO is a membership organization and operates in rural areas. Have for 5 years now. Has good relationship with community, government, donors and partners.

  RESEARCH

FODEO 2010 did a research in 52 village among of 124 village in Magu at the past Busega District was a part, and get clear cut that there is inadequate participation of the Villagers in the Village meetings and this resulted into poor contributions of views and opinions especially when developmental programs or projects start. They assume that even if they participate yet their views and opinions are not respected neither they are given any consideration nor attention, the Village leaders conclude and prepares their supporters to give them full support when it comes on points of controversial, and those who are not in favor of the leaders are strictly punished by state machineries through effective and uncontrolled legal measures.

  LEGAL RIGHTS

We provide support of legal rights for 40 peoples who came in our Office to request supporting on Law about Land right user , rights of cultural abuse in women rights and humiliation of women.

 COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROJECT

We conducted trainings in the community on 26 villages in Busega District in order to empower the Villagers on the importance of participating in their villages meetings, we maintain their legal rights in participation on creating projects that meets their current needs in their villages as well as the supervision and coordination of their completion in time, the right to demand an access to their villages financial records on income and expenditures after every 3 calendar month, this took place from August to October 2012.

 VOLUNTEER FROM VILLAGES

We provided education by way of conducting seminars to two villagers volunteers from six ward that makes a total of 12 Volunteers within Busega District for a period of 2 day in order to empower them on making follow ups and motivation as well as stirring up the motion of reading financial reports on income and expenditures of Village funds in their respective wards which took place on July 2012.

 ORGANIZATION CAPACITY BUILDING

Organization Director and Accountant got capacity building of how to manage grant. this support was done in Dodoma by Foundation for civil society effectively on April 2012 and October 2013.

 GRANT RECEIVED

The Foundation for Civil Society Tanzania, is a grant maker Tanzania supported to implement three project

 

  1. Through Organization Capacity building help us to get knowledge about how to implement the project, the project cost was Tshs 4,872,000/=

 

2. Conducted trainings community in the 26 villages in Busega District in order to empower the Villagers on the importance of participating in their villages meetings, the project cost was Tshs 7,500,000/=

 

3. Organization capacity assessment was done by The foundation for civil society to help determine organization weakness and an hence self awareness.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS.

FODEO has good relationship with the community, government, donors and partners. Example, good Implementation of Organization Capacity building and training of community villages project. Grant maker Tanzania,   The Foundation for civil society Tanzania Accepted to fund third project with Tshs 44,842,850/= the contractor done by The Foundation for civil society and Foundation for development organization on 04th, October 2013.

 ADVOCACY

Through enhancing civil society participation in policy processes in 26 villages in Busega district. Decision making processes are more responsive to civil society needs realities and concerns, Increased accountability at local levels normative principles of Human right and good governance based approach are reflected in local development plans with civil society increasingly participation in decision making processes.

 Other work in the Office.

  • 2009 we established a central nursery of 200,000 seedlings and planted along Lake Victoria shore of Bulima Village area.

 

  • We helped Bi Leticia Mabula to get right of Land user ownership in Milambi Village.

 

  • 2012, we helped school student who ran away from home due to mother embarrassment. now is living at home with good relationship.

 

  • We succeeded to save four children of the age between 2 and 8 who were left alone with their mother for nine months. we helped them in corporation with, Nyashimo street chairperson, community and OCD Busega District and to make sure their mother is back at home. Now they are living with their mother.
