Lessons Learned
Explanation |
---|
Most of community leaders are not aware of; and have not seen the National Environmental Policy of 1992. The policy has not been disseminated. |
There is intefearance in the enforcement of laws and regualation by higher authority. |
It is important to involve beneficiaries and stakeholders from outside the organisation in the evaluation of the project in order to get wider views and critical analysis of the report. |
Challenges
Challenge | How it was overcome |
---|---|
1. None of the 135 community leaders had seen National Environmental Policy or Environment for sustainable Management Act of Zanzibar. The above have never been disseminated. It is a draw back that needs to be addressed in future interventions. | • This was discussed and agreed to be disseminated in the future. |
2. Some very important items needed for the exercise such as allowance for Supporting Staff and transport for chief guest were not budgeted for; This was overlook during budget preparation. | CODECOZ spent its own money to pay for the items. |
