ZANAB Focus i ncludes(1)Provision of Information, education and awareness creation among the general population in Zanzibar and the people with Visual Impairment; (2) working to advance favorable environment for the people with blindness at the national, districts, Sgegias(counties) at households and global level (3) Internal capacity building of ZANAB and its district structures to effectively deliver services; (4) conduct blindness preventive programs, treatment and rehabilitation programs (5) Strentehen Sexual reproductive Health status of people with blindness and partial sighted and (6) working with national and International developoment partners.With much development experience spanning 19years ZANAB has registered critical events like:-

1) Getteing the office in 1993 enabled Governancce, Bureaucracy and Organisational activities strenthened

2) Carry out Districts' Survey i n Unguja and Pemba 1995 thus Identified people with Visual impairments in all ten districts of UNGUJA AND PEMBA

3) STOPPING OPERATING THE FORODHANI CENTER CAUSED MANY YOUTHS NOT BEING ABLE TO GET hANDICRAFT TRAINING IN 1997

4) Cut of funds in 2004 caused renting office thus paralyzing functions and had to look for its own office problems.

5) Initiation of Community Based Rehabilitation(CBR) Project that helped to train citizen on

" Utengamao" rehabilitation services as well as understanding ZANAB in general in 2006.

6) In 2008/9 Launch of QuickBooks in documentation was a big challege as many could not be able to manage it and led to poor implementation of activities

7) In 2009 Staff redundacy and implementation was not as usual and this affected the Secretariat

8) In 2011 Got Rapid Funding Envellope(RFE) grant manging ZANAB to train and get understanding in implementing project activities reaching out to so many beneficiaries(more than 10,000 people) directly as well as indirectly
