  1. 1.0 Introduction

The Zanzibar bird’s conservation project is a project sole proprietorship mainly in but has there some board members and shares holders who invest in this project Zanzibar dealing for the conversation of the birds and forest and other animals and management of conservation of the birds and forest and other animals for the society activities. The project intends to provide wide range of investment opportunities in Zanzibar specifically at forest conservation project by taking in to account the guidelines from ZIPA.
The following investment opportunities will be offered by the project:

  • Building office and reception and cafe

  • Building of security office and room toilets for guest and staffs and dogs

  • Construction of cages 30 for the birds for the conservation

  • Construction of generator house

  • Space for the Visitors who will stay more than one week

  • Walking Pathways

  • Water supply and electricity supply.

The sponsors of this project undertook extensive travels to holiday are other tourism destinations of European countries, America Middle East, Australia and other parts of Africa. They envisaged that Zanzibar as the best site with good potential for tourist potential development of this kind.  Currently Zanzibar is being attracted by the conduciveness of the current investment climate and good business environment. The identified area has been earmarked for tourism project and the project got the guidance from the related investment authorities. The project intends to provide the following range of services to the clienteles:

  • High quality of birds conservation and breeding services of different categories,

  • Professional birds conservation facilities

  • To train the community for the perseveration of the forest and animals and not killing them.
  • To provide eco-tourism facilities for all regions of Zanzibar Island

  • To train and provide training regarding the eco-tourism

  • Catering services with different cuisine and specifically authentic Zanzibar cuisine.

  • Agriculture and forest conversation technically to the societies  

Accommodation, catering  and beaches alone are not sufficient to attract tourists, what is required is conservation project and packages that provides much to see, much to stay,  much to do and much to enjoy. The investors have considered those features and take as challenges and dream to this project which needs to be fulfilled. Furthermore, the investors aim at giving in respect of revenue generation to government, employment to locals, training and transfer of knowledge to locals, conservation and others.
This project proposal presents a business plan and evaluates the opportunity for developing this project to cater for the needs of affluent tourists and other international clienteles.  The proposed development of the project is designed to serve pleasure for international and local clienteles with high quality standard of services. The proposed project is a unique opportunity in Zanzibar to create and idyllic tourist gateway from Europe, America and in particular Mile and Far East Countries that is sensitive to its context, culture and environment.
This business plan is being submitted to present the viability of the proposed project and the financial projections for the purposes of doing mega investment in the island. The company intends securing approval from Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) and other related Authorities so that the company can go ahead with the project. Hence the investors have been able to select and secure this site subject to the approval of ZIPA and develop an investment project operating under the umbrella of the Zanzibar Investment Promotion and Protection Act of 2004.

Project ownership and shareholdingn

The project is owned by an Abdul-rauf A. Ismail. He is Tanzanians that has a lifetime commitment to Zanzibar environment and represent the business and conservation related aspects. His combined knowledge gives the project an outstanding professionalism and ability to implement the ambitious plans of tourism and conservation businesses establishment and community development.  The following is a brief profile for him:
Mr. Abdul-rauf Ali Ismail: has good experience as director and manager for small up-market hotel establishments and other businesses, including providing loans to civil servants.   
Generally, the project owner self employed with good experience and knowledge in tourism sector and wildlife conservation related activities. However, since the project is of small scale it is registered owned and operated as a domestic project. The owner believes that the sustainability of the investment and the tourism development to a large extent will be safeguarded by the contribution from local and international agencies.
