The idea of establishing Tawa came up after realizing of  un equality and invisibility of ordinary and minority women among Tanzania community. Due to cultural .religion , laws , and other believes,  which  regards women  as  a men,s properities, So coming together  to joint forces, collective voices, information and ideas were felt among founding  members  to  advocate for their human rights and  equal opportunities,  economical, political and social aspects . .

   The objectives  of the group is to address the issues which affects   ordinary and minority women in our society and to identfy the strategies to overcom the situation

To liase with other groups working on the similar  issues and others , nationally and internationally .

To  empower women in various aspets such as  basic human rights,  life skills and others ,

To fundrise for the organazation activities.
